A dime and three nickels doesn't get you a silver dollar.

OEL is not available.

Folks should consider actually listening to the interview. Every GM in the league will listen to offers for any player who's rights they own. All of them are willing to listen. Any GM will trade any player if they think it makes their team better.

This frenzy is so stupid. Maloney said Doan was untouchable but he'd obviously listen to all offers on all other players. This is he most obvious statement ever and complete and total non-news. The fact that he immediatley brought up OEL as tough to acquire means he's the closest thing to untouchable we have. He's as close to untouchable as any player on any team.

To all the fans of teams hoping to land OEL because he is not on GMDM's "untouchable" list (of 1 player)...that does not mean he will be cheap or be obtainable for prospects.

The only way Arizona trades OEL is for an ELITE forward. That is predicated on keeping Yandle instead.

Find one center that is similar to OELs age and similar to his value. Offer that player and no other assets. Don't have one of those? Sorry, you're not getting OEL.

Doubt they trade him for a bunch of spare parts.

Duchene and +'s for balance on each side

I wouldn't trade Klingberg straight up for OEL. Not that Klingberg is better than OEL, but I think he will be one day soon.

I would trade
1 - top winger prospect (Nuke/Ritchie/Dickinson)
1 - top defense prospect (Oleksiak/Nemeth/maybe Honka)
1 - first round pick

IMO for any that want to make proposals for OEL, your best best trade proposals should include:

- No more then two players.
- Draft picks are only sweeteners--the main value should be in the one or two players.

If Colorado was actually serious about really fixing their D, this would be the time to do it.

This should probably be stickied at the top of the boards and people's computer monitors.

Whatever they have to trade for him will be a tough pill to swallow.

Yeah, wouldn't blame them for wanting to keep their centers, but OEL/Johnson would be a monster top pairing.

They should probably keep their centers and just throw the checkbook at a UFA for a few years.

The plus here is your 2015 1st rounder. Not attempting fair value here, just what I think it'd take to make the risk worth it.

Hey, Arizona, you know what you shouldn't do? Trade OEL.
I know you don't need me to tell you this, but, seriously, what do you think you'd gain from this? An elite forward? Trade Yandle. Keep Hanzal, Boedker, your first this year. Trade Gormley if you really have to. But whatever team has a player like OEL and trades him will live to try and find another player exactly like him.

Maloney's position is that a team would have to blow him away for OEL. He has previously said that OEL would only really ever be moved for a star player like a Stamkos or Tavares.

It's 10x more likely Yandle is traded instead.

You're welcome to shop elsewhere. Coyote fans aren't obligated to entertain fair value proposals for a D that clearly isn't available for fair value.

The problem is expectations for Yandle appear to be completely out to lunch.

then there is no deal to be had for sure.

I could see risk if it were ROR, not sure about the risk for a very reasonably paid 1C on a lengthy contract like Duchene. At least not remotely for a clear 1st
