Follows what he said about Drogba in that podcast posted above. Getting another forward is EXTREMELY complicated, which is why he doesn't want to do it as long as Marco is here. Cause when you have a forward thats good enough to start every game, you got to play him, and that messes up with the whole tactical scheme of the team cause all of a sudden you play two forwards, one less in midfield, less protection, less posession, less width etc etc etc.

He's been saying that he wasn't ready for the last 2 years or so.. and now he is?

I'd say, sign him. You could still rotate him with Di Vaio for a few games 'till he is in game shape (or for next year)

Remember also that if you sign a player now you pay a full cap hit and full salary.

I am pretty certain that they will wait till summer. there are too many advantages not to:

-Half price DP hit
-Less money spent overall/less money wasted on overlapping with Marco
-less complication with the existing(still in flux/untested) formation
-A much larger and more talented player pool to choose from post WC
-time to see how this group does and assess to choose the best player, as well as deal with injuries and under performers in one shot.

I'm sure there are more.

Well, I guess he'll stay in the Bundesliga 'till the Summer and would then come over once the transfer window opens (like how we signed Di Vaio)?

I doubt he would come over right now anyway!

Simply marketing wise and havings people at the games,
If NDS and Saputo don't bring Occean here, they're idiots.

I bet many Montrealers know who Occean is.

It would be best to wait for the summer.

Impact have not made any announcement yet about Malki, Pearce or Gagnon-Lapare.

He is with the team. He twitted some pics of him at a party with other players yesterday or the day before.

Occean is not as good these days... but we'll take him. On and off the field, a good move.

Hopefully he gets in gameshape and makes a difference. He certainly has the pedigree...

I'm sorry but Occean isn't my idea of a High Profile player NDS was talking about. He would be a great substitute pending on game conditions. It's nice to have a deep bench

Good, finally a legit left back.

We still have many players not in game shape form to play full game: Brovsky, Pearce, Bernier, Romero, Gonzalez... neither of them are on an enough good form to start a game.

Bernardello is going to be crucial for us for the first 3 games.

Hopefully they sign Occéan, it would be a good marketing move, and he would certainly help the team. Having him could give the Impact a chance to rest MDV.

Also nice to see that they signed Pearce.

Next year, we could have a lineup filled with a lot of local products that could play against weaker teams.

Made it just for the lolz, media won't be able to complain about the lack of local players

Crépeau

Ouimette - Lefèvre - Meftouh - Tissot/Miller

Gagnon-laparé - Bernier

Messoudi - Ndiaye/Smith

Occéan - Wenger

A great signing we are now set defensively. Best possible back-line considering Camara wants to play CB
Brovsky - Rivas - Ferrari - Pearce

Sub : Lopez, Ouimette, Tissot, Camara, Miller &Lefevre

Now we just need that damn CM/AM

I agree that Occean is not the DP we're looking for. I see him in a similar role as DeRosario is playing in Toronto.

The ex-superstar who returns home and plays a secondary role and backs up the big signings, but is also a huge part of their marketing and identity.

I'm no expert, but I don't think he'll get DP money.

He is nowhere near of a DP status.

Sorry, that's what I meant. I thought it was assumed when I compared him to Dero(not a DP either)

He's gonna get Bernier money. 200k-350k

They BETTER sign him, he's a need, and the best hometown player on the planet. Impact aren't the Habs, they need to give the fans a bone once in a while to keep the buzz going and put people in the stands.
