What's weird is that the Toronto Maple Leafs now have had Mats Sundin, Owen Nolan, and Eric Lindros in their organization, all three of which were number 1 picks with the Quebec Nordiques. They have also had Todd Warriner, which means that we've had Quebec's number one pick in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992. If you could Wade Belak, there's yet another Quebec first rounder (1994).

The Leafs are like the Nordiques alumni.
Whoa never thought of it that way!

I'm tempted to get one, but I dunno....

1 year, who knows what will happen after 1 year? I guess I could get one to keep the legend alive that he indeed played for the Maple Leafs at one point in his career.

Cant say Im too happy that Lindros is joining the Leafs because I am hoping that they will give some of the kids more ice time, but maybe its safe to say he will get injured and a call up will happen. But I agree with everyone else that there is high reward potential in this deal..

I'm sure he'd be transformed into 45 with the big club.

I'd have an Aki jersey!

Two words: damaged goods.

Let's see how long it takes before he's hit and given another concussion.

Yeah, thankfully the highly overrated Cole is back east, the last thing we want is for CBC to actually come to their senses and put Hughson in the east and give us Cole for game 2, that would suck.

Now that Lindros is official:

All contracted Leafs thus far (disregard line matchups):

Note: I'm sticking Lindros on the wing for now, but the point is just to get a visual for what we have and don't have in our lineup.

FORWARDS
O'Neill - Sundin - Lindros
Tucker - Allison - Domi
Belak - Stajan - **Ponikarovsky
? - Kilger - ?

**there seems to be some confusion whether Poni is signed.

DEFENCE
McCabe - Kaberle
Klee - Khavanov
Berg - Colaiacovo

GOALIE
Belfour
Tellqvist

RFAs:
Antropov, Hedin, Perrott, Pilar, Wilm

About 5 million left to spend?

Kovalev $4.5 million in 2005-2006 : last NHL season: 2003-2004 78 games, 14 goals, 45 points

Lindros $1.55 million in 2005-2006: last NHL season: 2003-2004 39 games, 10 goals, 32 points

Hope you get your money's worth.

You know, I never even thought of that. Thank you for bringing his injury history to our attention, I had forgotten that he had concussions in the past, and therefore may, in fact, garner a concussion in the future.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for bringing this up, you're honestly the first to have mentioned it. Might I suggest a joke, something along the lines of "concussion line" would be terribly witty right now.

Lindros is probably 1st line LW, 2nd line RW, or 3rd line C.

It'd be

**-Sundin-O'Niell
Tucker-Allison-**
Antropov-Stajan-Poni
Kilger-***-Domi

** = Lindros / Steen
*** = Wellwood / Wilm

McCabe - Kaberle
Klee - Khavanov
Colaiacovo - Berg/Belak/Pilar

Eddie
Tellqvist

And there you have it.

No thank you to Anson Carter.

Wonder if he will push for the Leafs to get Leclair now?

Please note my phrase: "disregard line matchups". This was meant to convey that this was not an attempt to guess at what the lines would be.

And you've discussed this with Pat Quinn, I trust? Because he sort of likes to have a say. Any projected lineup is just the guess of a fan and nothing more.

My list is just an attempt to show who is actually signed so we can see the big picture of who we have and what spots we might need to strengthen. Make sense?

Yep, Fragile was written on his box and he was sent by Butterfingers Express. $1.55 is too much when the Leafs don't have that much cap room left and he's a liability waiting to happen. But since he's getting that much I sure don't want him on the 4th line. He'll likely be lines 1 or 2.
