LOL

I know...

Someone just asked him about Carter and he stuttered.

Never likes to give straight answers.

Lindros weighs just over 250. He says he plays at about 244.

Not bad, one month of hard training and skating should do the trick.

Amazing. I'm happy.

It's too bad we had to lose at least Roberts in the process.. We could've been:

Roberts-Sundin-O'Niell
Tucker-Allison-Lindros

Or something like that.. But let's not think about the past..

YAY FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric would be better served playing center, if not just for his faceoff capabilities alone.

After all the bashing is over with, all the Canadian clubs have solid teams. Ours really depends on being healthy, but I'm fine with that. I understand that it's a risk.

Montreal looks good with their young talent and veteran leadership.

Ottawa, regardless of what we say, is a force. They just need to sign that force to NHL contracts.

Edmonton could use a goalie, but they've stepped it up big time.

Calgary is awesome. Amonte is a good pickup, and a cheap one. Langkow will make noise, as well as McCarty.

Vancouver looks pretty much the same, except on few points. But Naslund is one of my favs and the Canucks will have a good team for years to come.

Let's stop fighting, as Canadians, and be happy for each other!

Perhaps he thinks he's signing with the Nords? (kidding)

Well, it should make for an interesting rivalry. He'll certainly arouse considerable passion in Montreal.

If he can avoid another concussion (no joke), he'll certainly make a difference. A very risky signing to be sure. He'll be a favourite target for every cheap shot artist and open ice hitter in the league unfortunately.

Good luck to him

Only one problem, if they all do well this year, they may all demand Kovalev type money, or close to it next season....

Just some food for thought.

Or how about that clown that tried to fight Big E in the preseason last time around and Lindros pulled that dudes helmet off and clubbed him with it?

That was freakin awesome.

Christ $1.55 million?

What was JFJ thinking?

That said, great to see JFJ and Lindros holding up that good ole (I'm guessing they pulled it out of storage at the ACC) blue and white 88. No incentives, one year, cost effective, welcome home Eric.

Also, I'd like to thank Lindros for noting what I've been saying the past while, that his shoulder, not his concussion was what kept him out for most of his injury time in 03-04. Also nice to see he has a sense of humour, the stickhandling and hard on his father quips were pretty funny.

I never thought I'd say this, but if the Leafs win the Cup this year, I won't be pulling out the shotgun I had marked for that occasion.

That is fine. If they are worth it, then they will get it. Of course, they will likely still be willing to take somewhat of a discount to stay here.

That is next year's team. They made an all out push for the cup last year, failed. This year is just a rental team, but still going to be fun to watch.

As a guy who HATE the leafs normally..

Leafys,

I am impressed. 3 Million gamble that could pay HUGE!

You guys disgusted me with your free agent methods - ripping Cujo from the oil - general abuse of cash - But this time around I must say I am very impressed with your GM!

I have to say I would have much rather seen my GM (who would totally suck, yes, its Mike Oconnell) show some stones and gamble on those two than go with the geritol movement.

I really do hope it pays off for you. I have always loved Allison since his time in Boston and thought he has a bad rap from his time in Tinsel Town.

Congrats you guys! I look forward to watching Allison pot a pair against Boston..

Good For Toronto!
Good for Hockey!
Now if only we could get Chicago and Detroit in the same division as Toronto Montreal Boston and New York...

Lindros is my favorite player of all time but he pretty much sucked when he played in New York. The notion that he'll somehow be energized in Toronto is lame - his excitement may last for a couple months.

Also I think he's got to lose some weight - he looked sluggish last year.

All in all I hope he has a great career in Toronto - and sucks against the Flyers.

If he puts up those "Sucky" NYR numbers I'll be more than happy. Those numbers are very similar to what Mogilny put up in Toronto.

So the last "major" concussion he suffered was from Stevens in 2000? Then took a year off, and had a very mild one the past year on the Rangers, but took most of the time to heal his shoulder. Correct?

Blah blah ... this coming from a guy whose teams is full of smurfs ... guys who don't have to worry about a concussion because the second it gets physical out there, they go MIA .... LOL, a whole of your forwards don't even know where the corners are in the other team's end. Put another, can you imagine the show that Ribs would put on if Stevens caught him full steam at center ice ? I still laugh when I remember his soccer player act in the Boston series ... IT WAS PATHETIC!

I think it's a bit of a misconception that Lindros sucked in New York. Sure, he performed well below his MVP play in Philly, but he was still a good player with the Rangers.

Over his career as a Ranger, he had 158 points in 192 games (0.82 ppg), and was an over all +31 (he's never had a negative +/- in his career), all while playing on some terrible and uninspired teams

That's pretty solid production from a guy we picked up for $1.55 mil

I'm very excited for this

Well he took 10 games for his concussion to heal and then I believe in practice, his shoulder got injured and he needed surgery.
