Got to see him many times as a Blazer-we wish him the best-term critical condition does not sound good but he has youth and fitness on his side-time will tell

I'd rather not say...but my chances of living was less than 10% I do not remember the 1st 2 weeks of ICU. I'm glad I don't. So I'm pulling for Tim.

From what I am reading, this sounds pretty scary and not very good at all. This is very serious.

At 19, with your whole life ahead of you, you just contract a virus and suddenly the worst begins to look likely....

Really makes you think and count your blessings.

With that being said, the fat lady has yet to sing so i'm pulling for Tim to get better

Hopefully he pulls through! I'm sure the organization will do something classy for him to help give him and his family support.

This is scary. I thought it wasn't bad because they caught it early, but when his parents tweeted they wrote "Our Timmy is keeping fighting but..." - I hope it's just a language problem, that "but..." seems sort of like it's not going well.

He's gonna be alright.. and after some time in recovery, he'll come back a stronger kid and tear up the AHL next season.

Fingers crossed.

Joel Bouchard had meningitis circa 2000. He played a lot more hockey after that.

Oh, and Jamie McLennan too.

A friend of mine died of meningitis last year.
He was fine 2 days before (on Friday).
On Sunday he died.
It grows up so fast...

I'm hoping for him but this sounds super bad. Hopefully he comes out of this, meningitis is super awful. It can cause: brain damage, hearing loss, speech impediment, etc.

High fever and nausea. Young babies are most prone to get viral meningitis and at higher risk for death if they get it. The only (???) way to detect it is to do a spinal tap to test the fluid for the virus. For young babies the guidelines are to do a spinal tap. In adults it's easy to mis-diagnose as a cold or flu and send you home from the ER.

Really hope he pulls through. Must be such a terrifying experience for the family. All they can do is sit there and wait and pray that he can fight it off.

Viral Meningitis gets taken care of in about a week. Then he'll need a couple more weeks of rest before he can start to train again. Bacterial types take less time to recover from.

Basically, he could be playing in the playoffs. But may miss the rest of the year. But physically, he should be fine.
That stuff is a wildcard. My friend's daughter had it when she was about 7. Almost died, did leave her with speech problem

Same. I never knew it could be fatal. I thought it would be a few days in the hospital and then all's well.

Really hoping Bozon makes a quick, and more important, full recovery.
