How do you know it wouldn't be McDavid?

Yeah. I was wondering the same thing. I would think that obtaining another chance to draft McDavid would be their goal if they're willing to trade Tavares.

Would Panther fans trade their #1 pick in 2014 for Nail Yakupov?

if one of Ekblad, Reinhart or Bennett are available, I wouldn't move it for Yakupov.

If they aren't, then I probably would.

Me too. The skills that Reinhart or Bennett bring are much more valuable to this team in my eyes than Yakupov's skills.

The Sedins? Hell no. Too old. We'd become the Canucks.

Drafting Ekblad and moving Gudbranson for offense? Definetly.

i wouldn't want to move gudbranson, he'll break out as soon as he's traded though. got every tool to become a legit #2-3

Huberdeu + Howden + pick

Make this a package to get an elite scoring forward. Love Huberdeau but he's just not that good. Very average skater, and I can not rate his shot, want to guess why? Because he doesn't shoot. When he does, it's weak. Howden is a great player for what he is. But the Panthers need to take that gamble, let's score some goals next season.

No chance in hell I'm giving all that up to bring in one person. By the way, Howden is going to better than you think, and Huberdeau is going to be much much better than you think.

You want to give up a top 3 pick and two of our good young players for one player, that's crazy IMO, Huberdeau showed a lot of potential last year and every team needs guys like Howden, how do you think guys like Radek Dvorak stayed in the league so long, with speed and solid PK'ing Howden's value to us going forward is much more than to a team who would trade for him (similar to Mike Weaver, who only got us back a 5th round pick, but is much more important than that by bringing intangibles and a good work ethic almost every night giving up his body to block shots; I know I'll probably get ripped for saying Weaver was good here, but take a look at his stats in Montreal).

I would love to be proven wrong, I'm rooting for huberdeu. But it's something about his skating, he's always hunched over, not much speed. I see it live from 20 rows up, maybe I'm missing something. Howden does look solid but you have to give to get.

I agree with you on a Howden and Weaver, they both work hard every shift. And with this package I proposed, we can get more than one player in return. But specifically I want one Proven, elite, get fans excited to drive out to sunrise player. As a season ticket holder, I'm ready to see it.

Trading for scoring doesn't hide the fact that Jovo will still get icetime next season.

As far as getting excited about the Panthers: building a winner>>>>>>>>> one player.
