Great for the oil, but now he might take up a spot in OKC

Something has to be up, how many d men do we have up here now? Ference, Schultz, Petry, Marincin, N.Schultz, Fraser and Belov's out? I think we have a RHD incoming just my prediction.

Cue MacT gif.

Really though. We're looking skimpy on the backend. Something incoming?

Could be nothing as well. Could be the Oilers trying to get rid of some d-men as they have a lot.

Maybe but no need to waive him right now IMO, especially after we waived Larsen yesterday. I think that theres something to the Myers rumors out of Buffalo...

They waited until Larsen cleared waivers to waive Potter.

Seems like they're trying to lose at least one D.

I agree. Trying to lose a contract. "What, nobody took Larsen? Let's try Potter today".

Ill be the lone person who doesn't like this.

He has not been as good this year as previous years but I would still point to Potter being superior to Fraser, Larson, Fedun, or any other #6 guy we have played to date.

Sure I would prefer someone better but I do not see anyone better in our system as a #6 RD.

IMO the only reason Potter was ever brought here in the first place was because he was a Tom Renney pet project from his Rangers days. With Renney long since gone, it was only a matter of time before his number was up.

Still, best of luck to him. Hopefully he'll be able to either get claimed or catch on with another club in the summer.

Assume they'll call up Fedun or Klefa after the deadline.

As sad as it is to even say it, this move makes us better. Should have been done last year.

I thought the speculation was that Klefbom was going to finish the year here.

Hope no one picks him up

I've always wanted to keep him on as an injury call up, belongs in OKC

I was listening to stauffer and he's talking about it like it's practically already happened.

After the fallout of the deadline, Klef will probably get called up.
