Nobody is complaining if he's making 950K. It's his impending pay raise that's problematic.
Well it's on him to show up to play next year, but for this year he's playing fine for his salary. Next year he'll be making 2M which is probably what a player with similar performance to him this year should be being paid. Neil is making 2M and Greening is out hitting him and plays the PK which Neil does not. Plus, it's not like Neil is actually fighting this year.
I love all the trolls that come out at times like this Told you so look at me I was right Seems like a very odd decision but from the start there was no fit for him in this line up, not sure why the acquired him ?. I expect him to go else where and become a solid player.
Then I'm pretty sure your opinion is baseless. Find me any hockey facts that support your position. They don't exist...
While I think Cory has skill, however he really hasn't been able to translate it at the NHL level with any consistency.
IMO Cory needed to break-in as a third line player, but there was so much churn he was bounced all over. This isn't all the fault of coaching, for the first part of t he season Cory wasn't playing the game that made him successful in the AHL.
While IMO Greening should never be near the top six, he has played quite well in his time with Smith and is definitely a better 4th line player than Conacher.
Now if stats are all that matter, Greening has outscored, out hit Conacher and plays on the PK.
So if the open role on the team is 4th line LW, Greening is the better choice now.
