Brunnstrom (auto corrected as Bruins trombone)
Wellwood
Raycroft
I also thought Barrett Jackman was the next Pronger.

Definitely thought Wolski would pan out.

I though JF Damphousse would push Marty for starts in New Jersey.

Linus Omark

Sam Gagner - I suppose he's not a "bust" yet, but I really thought he would be a better player.

Tyler Arnason

Kyle Calder

Andrew Raycroft

Rick DiPietro

I remember when Kyle Calder and Mark Bell were 2 of the most sought after young players on this site.

I thought Nick Petrecki would become the next Dion Phanuef. Boy was I ever wrong.

Seriously, dude? The guy was one of the best players in the league for the better part of a decade. Won a Rocket Richard trophy. Scored 50 goals one season. Will top 1000 points by the time he's done. Stop trying to come up with a "clever" response and just come up with a real one. BTW, one person making an exaggerated prediction about a player shouldn't mean that the player needs to be judged against that statement forever. "Steven Stamkos will be twice the goal scorer Gretzky ever was by the time he's 25." There, it was just said. Does that make Stamkos a bust if he doesn't live up to that?

Plus Vinny kind of got railroaded and lost a lot of his skill by a nasty concussion if I remember correctly. Most say he was never the same.

Either way, he is/was a great player who accomplished actual, tangible awards in the NHL.

Not too many, 99% of players I assume will be busts/disappointments and they usually are.

Jan hirdina.
Milan kraft but he never came back, same with morozov but he killed khl.

I love seeing Mann come up in these threads. I grew up in Peterborough, and watched him play all his junior games. His talent was so far beyond what was available as competition in the OHL it was hard to believe.

Then ..... Europe.

Lauri Tukonen. I remember watching him at the WJC and being really impressed. Ended up playing a total of 5 NHL games with 0 points.

Another good one. I thought Al Iafrate was going to be the difference maker in Boston.

Also, Kvartalnov, Samsonov, and Rosy Ruzicka.

My formative hockey years ruined players from Russian bloc countries for me.

Right! Cameron Mann. Crap, his first name just like tripled expectations in Boston.

Nikita Filatov.

I was really excited for the Jackets when him, Voracek, and Brassard were all rookies.
