Oiler fans, I wish you the best with him, but the injury thing... I just wish you the best.

I find it very odd how venomous some people are in reference to advanced stats guys. Some act like they're literally Hitler.

If someone recorded those stats it would be very interesting in my opinion. I'd love to see a breakdown of all the goalies and see where their strengths lie in terms of shot distance.

Fasth vs Scrivens, may the best goalie win.

Oilers needed a goalie and Ducks needed the roster spot.

Can someone provide insight into his injuries and the effect it had on his play this season (and possibly into the future)

The hell? Scrivens is not the guaranteed starter (and shouldn't be after such a small sample size).

Fantastic move by Mac T. I'm really impressed with this one.

Gordon,Ference, Perron, Gazdic, Scrivens and Hendricks have been really impressive additions by MacTavish. Hopefully Fasth can continue this trend. Praying that the kids start playing like they want to win and not a paycheque

Good move for Edmonton. Scrivens and Fasth have a few question marks but between them Edmonton should get adequate goaltending for a change.

Good job by the Ducks getting something on a stagnant asset.

They went from Dubnyk and Labarbera to Scrivens and Fasth. Not bad at all.

He strained his groin during preseason. He was out for a while, then in his first game back he stepped on a puck during warm ups injuring himself again. He did play down in the AHL recently for us and things seemed okay. He just had some bad luck and unfortunately a talented young goalie took his spot on the roster and he ended up being expendable.

Oilers actually made a decent move..........until you see their defensive core and say to yourself, "same old, same old".

I see what you're trying to do but this thread is about the Oilers adding a goaltender. I guess if your GM is too afraid to improve his roster its OK to come in and take cheap shots at an easy target

I like the upgrade in the net the Oilers have done. It's a bit of a gamble though. I see the logic in the move though. Despite the small sample sizes Scrivens and Fasth have both done well. I doubt MacTavish is looking at them at being long term solutions. Maybe one of them works out. If they don't onto the next batch of goalies until a goalie they drafted becomes the one they need.

How is it a cheap shot? Oilers need like ten top 4 defense to have a decent chance to help Fasth. Please don't take this as a cheapshot at your team, it is just a matter of fact.

But Fasth does have the ability to steal games, so at least you got that going for you in this trade. I just don't think he will make a huge difference until you start fixing the defense.
