I'd like this as an NJD fan. Fayne would fit well on a pair with someone reliable like Ryan Murray(from what I've seen from him he looks very reliable for his age). I'd probably keep him away from high risk type players like Johnson and Wisniewski. A lot of Fayne's success this year has come from playing with Andy Greene, our most consistent d-man. From the Devils point of view, Gaborik obviously helps us fill our need of a scoring winger.

Are we supposed to forget that this guy sold the farm for Gaborik only a year ago?

Two players who didn't fit and a good young defenseman from a batch of good young defensemen is not - repeat not - 'the farm'. It's a good return for gabby but hardly the farm.

That was a pretty small farm, if you call that a farm.

I wouldn't call Brassard, Dorsett and Moore selling the farm. Moore was the only asset most Columbus fans were disappointed to see go. Dorsett and Brassard didn't have a spot on this team. Granted, it hasn't worked out as planned but it certainly wasn't selling the farm.

I would be happy with Sbisa. Fills a need, fits the core. LIkely a good hockey trade. Not sure the + is needed right now though. Gabby coming off injury and not up to hockey speed yet clearly will impact his value (potential and history only get you so far).

my girlfriend played for the Lady Ducks and forces me to watch a lot of Ducks games and he (Sbisa) has been off his game recently.. would be a solid change of scenery move for both teams.

Wait, why are some of these packages so outrageous?

Are we talking about the same Gaborik here? Pending UFA? The guy that has just returned from injury? 12 goals last year (injured), 6 goals this year (injured). Seems to me like BJ could have rushed him back for a 3 games audition before the deadline here as well

Don't get me wrong and Gaborik can give some team a great boost and I rather pay "low" for Gaborik than selling the farm for Vanek. But reality is, although Columbus fans might be offended by the low ball package offered, they are not selling the 40 goals scorer Gaborik neither

We shouldn't want him. He's over 30 and injury prone on an already old team. He isn't even a workhorse.

He would fit on the Kings for the right price. Something like Greene or Mitchell or even Muzzin.

Looks like Columbus is going to tempt fate for the 2 points.

Gaborik is still an elite scorer but I have to imagine his skating has suffered this season. still, put him with an elite center like Crosby or Kopitar and he'll probably be quite an offensive asset. Low risk, high reward rental. I'd be surprised if no one picks him up unless Jarmo is asking for too much.
