Remember back to July 1 when BM signed MacArthur after hearing Alfredsson signed in Detroit & how everyone on here was going nuts calling for Murray's head until they heard about the Ryan trade.

I am talking about trades that will actually help our NHL roster. I do not give a **** about minor league deals.

So really the Schneider/Luongo controversy resulted in a win for both goalies, plus Lack. Everyone gets a starting job.

I wonder what this all will mean for tomorrow. I can't recall such a flurry of activity occurring the day before trade deadline day.

Hope it won't be silent tomorrow.

They got Shawn Matthias? That's a nice pick up. He's a complete forward.

Now that Canucks are in full rebuild, what about...crazy thought...going after 1 of the Sedin twins? (I would even give up 2015 1st as part of teaser package..the Canucks may be bad enuf to actually win the McDavid lottery, but Sens won't)

Also, kind of funny to think that Matthias is going to Vancouver for Luongo, when he was originally sent from Detroit to Florida for Bertuzzi, who had been traded from Vancouver to Florida for Luongo.

When Luongo retires in 2021, the Canucks pay a cap recapture penalty of >$7 million. Well played Gillis.

Vancouver retains 15% of his contract. That SUCKS. Gillis royally screwed this one up.

Retaining salary was always going to be a part of any deal involving Luongo. Whoever signed him to that albatross contract is the one who royally screwed up. He is a great goalie, but it is easily one of the most wretched contracts in the game.

Couldn't agree more. But this whole goalie saga almost couldn't have played out any worse than it has.

I agree 100%. Times like this make me thankful for MacLean, who does not do goalie controversies.

The #coyotes have dealt defenceman David Rundblad to the #blackhawks.
This could be a real good move in a few years.

Rundblad to Chicago you say?

Old timers on their bottom four? If not this season, he could get an opportunity next year.
