Nucks can't score this year. Goaltending is the least of the concerns out here.

Are you thinking of the potential cap penalty or something? That will be peanuts because the cap will be really high at that time.

Really, what did Nucks fans think Luu's value was?

I'm baffled at the reaction.
Literally just watched him play 2 weeks ago at the marlies rampage game. Dude's huge.

We thought his value was less than this...

So... to a man (and woman) we're actually quite happy! Happy for Lu, and happy for us... I don't really get why everyone else is in here laughing... the deal works for Canucks fans.

And the Leafs are relying on those two? Oh no they have Bernier, turns out those Canuck fans were right.

Look beyond your pathetic hatred.

Vancouver is trying to trade their big pieces, they aren't competing for a cup. They are now fully rebuilding.

Toronto is trying to win a cup with Reimer as their starter. It was always funny hearing that Reimer>> Schneider, hopefully without your Vancouver hatred you can see otherwise now.

Wow everyone makes it seem like us ( the Canucks fans of HF) made the trade.

I'm actually really surprised by all these comments, I think its a pretty damn good return considering everyone on here was saying how no one wants Luongo "terrible contract" , "old" etc. etc.

Am I the only one thats happy for Lu and happy with the return?

You're clueless, most of us would have traded Lu for a 7th. Why post when you have no idea what you're talking about?

Last year, people were claiming that Vancouver would have been happy with TO's two seconds. Now they're saying that Gillis didn't get enough...

Playoffs? What playoffs?

Next up, they'll trade Kesler and Edler and then it's McDavid/Eichel here we come!
It will take a few years of dumping players before you're as bad as Buffalo and Edmonton

Really happy with it. No reason Markstrom can't turn it around. And I've always been a Matthias fan. But with two young, mostly unproven goaltenders. It looks more like a rebuild setup than a retool. But I guess Kesler being traded or not will be much more telling of that.

Just getting rid of Luongo's contract makes this trade a positive thing for Vancouver.

Getting a guy with potential like Markstrom makes it even better.

Maybe he will be a late bloomer at 26 but I tend to agree.

He was also the guy traded for Todd Bertuzzi seven years ago.

It got to a ridiculous point. I'm glad Lu doesn't have to deal with this anymore and the retained amount is nothing compared to what they would have had to juggle had he stayed.

The rebuild is in motion. You won't hear me complaining about that.

So, what's the encore for tomorrows deadline deals. Hard to top this one for it's sheer discussion value.
