The Canucks don't really lack a goalie

"Perhaps we can offer you a slightly-used Ray Emery?"

Lack/Markstrom.

It's like the reverse 09/10 Brynas team.

Do you mean this summer as a UFA? The Ducks are 100% not moving Hiller.

I don't understand all this fuss about needing a starting goalie. Lack has proven he can compete with the best of them and really excited to see how much of an elite goalie he becomes during these couple years of rebuilding. Oh, and there's this guy Markstrom with fantastic potential. I see another Lu/Schneider quality tandem forming within 5 years... if they last that long without Vancouver goalie controversy

Lack's the starter. Take the next best of Eriksson and Markstrom as back up. That's pretty good depth at goaltending. If the backups aren't ready acquire a vet who can play back up and we're good to go.

Stopping the puck has not been the issue for the Canucks. Now if we could just get a goalie who could score some goals for us.

Love it, post you dont think Lack is ready - overwhelmingly told and shown in stats why Lack is ready. Also no matter what Canucks are going with youth in net and most likely throughout the team.

Again post original thoughts with no change and no recognition of what was said in thread. If you post something at least pretend like you would like other people's opinions.

Lack/Markstrom sounds pretty good to me. If I was re-tooling or even re-building, I'd feel confident about having one position set up pretty well.

Have you watched any Canuck games this year? Lack has looked really good, the job is his now that Lou is gone, we aren't going to trade assets for another starting goalie, lol.

I love how a good 25 games means someone is a genuine starter.

I think Lack will be fine. I justed wanted to chime in on a thread titled "starting goalie to Vancouver" a year after they had Luongo/ Schneider.

Why?

Van doesn't care what other teams think about Lack's readiness. He's strong mentally - we've groomed him well. We're rolling with him and Markstrom. Lack has been great, not just this season, but for his whole tenure in the organization. Only way for him to prove it is by getting a chance. We had to listen to how Schnieder was unproven blah blah blah. Just parroting the same stuff now.

Lack/Markstrom are more than capable of carrying the load during a rebuild.

From what I've seen of Lack I've been very impressed, and Markstrom is too young to write off yet. Can't say much about Eriksson but between the three of them I think Vancouver is doing just fine.

Giving up assets to get another goaltender would be horrible management.

He has been a genuine starter, a beauty of one at the AHL level for years. Perhaps you should look at his full body of work. Lack is 26 and couldve been in the NHL a few years ago. People were saying the same **** about Schneider when he was 26. We develop our goalies very slowly and as a result we end up with very mature goalies who are quite capable of handling starting duties. Lack isnt some fresh face out of junior who has a lot of maturing to do. He will be fine, but hey apparently to fans around the league canuck goalies are only good when we trade them away...when they are canucks they are inexperienced, overrated, etc.

I was more being sarcastic then anything imo.
People hate on goalies if they dont have 10 great seasons under their belt and think they suck if they don't no matter how well they play.
Im an Oilers fan and have had people tell me that Scrivens can never be a #1 and is only an average back up.
As much as I hate the Canucks, if Lack can handle the starter pressure, he can be a #1, same boat as Scrivens. Other fans will still call them bad just because of the teams they play on.
