For the sake of argument lets say his trade from Stl to Ott was because of value/needs of organizations

Then we saw Ottawa give up on him after seeing him at NHL level ,, Now Yotes have given up on him after seeing him at NHL level
I wouldnt call the Sens giving up on him either, they needed a 2nd line C and PHX wanted the best package they could get for Turris. Speaking of Turris, you probably labeled him as a bust and a never will be player, and now look at him.

You could also spin it and say he is coveted around the league as well. Not everything is as black and white as you make it seem.

Joe Morrow has been traded just as many times, and no one considers him a bust or that the teams gave up on him.

He did lead the coyotes in pre season scoring. This kid will rock if you give him the chance.

Rundblad's a good player. You don't score at a PpG as a Dman in any Pro league - as a 19/20 year-old no less - because you're bad.

The biggest drawback in Rundblad's game is that he's got just average speed. He's got great hands, gets pucks through from the point, and has great playmaking ability from the point. Add to that he has size at 6'2", and I really do think he can be an impact player in the NHL.

He needs to find his confidence at this level. That's the biggest thing for him IMO.

He was never put in a position to succeed with Phoenix. It was always bottom pairing as a last resort, with a quick hook if he did anything wrong. I feel bad for the kid because he impressed enough to make the team twice out of camp, but Tippett would never play him. Something about his inability to play PK being a huge mark against him. Doesn't seem to bother him that Yandle is the same way...

I can see why the Hawks covet him. It's really a case of a player getting screwed by the team that owns him. Rundblad put in the work and had a good attitude about it. Chicago is an ideal place for him to produce.

Ottawa needed a center and Rundblad was expendable. I guess you can call that giving up.

PHX gave up on him since (imo) he never managed to show that he could be the Yandle-light they were hoping for so that they would have traded Yandle for help up front.

I get were you are coming from on this but you have to admit that looking at what has been going the other way in all of the Rundblad trades, his value has always been considered fairly high.

Well if you consider rentals, yes. If you consider a prospect with a cap hit below $1M, signed for next season and a RFA after that, it is not that bad actually.

Being 8th on Hawks depth chart is more ideal then being 8th on Yotes depth chart?

Simply makes no sense

He might not be 8th on the Hawks depth chart for long. If the rumors of the cap only going up to $68 million for next year are true, the Hawks may have a bit of a squeeze coming after next year when Kane, Toews, Saad and Leddy are all up.

yep, no chance Oduya is with the Hawks come draft day.

can't afford to keep him and no real reason to after this season. Clendening or Rundblad can step in and take a 7th dman spot, and Leddy can finally move into the top 4 and become the stud we know he can be if given the full chance.

I think you'll see Rosival go before Oduya

both will be gone.

Rosi doesn't make the money that Oduya does, absolutely no reason to keep Oduya when we have a few guys who play very similar to him in your system at a third of the price. If the cap goes down nearly $4 mil for next year, I simply cannot see Oduya as a Hawk - hello Uncle Dale and The South Chicago Panthers!! They will take him!

Oduya to Florida for some picks...I can see it now

You definitely try to ditch Oduya if he continues his play for most of the year. He's been the worst guy on the back end this season.

No, he hasn't. He has been on the same level as Leddy, and better than and #6 Dman we have played.

Oduya has been flat out atrocious for most of the year. I'd take Leddy over him any day and I'm far from a Leddy booster. And the 6D have mostly been fine.

Going up but not to what it was originally projected to go up to. The raises to Crawford, Shaw and Bollig are more than the increase is now projected to be.

He probably meant down from the original projection.

Right, really its going to depend on how high it goes. If it goes to 69.5, I think Rozsival goes, if it only goes up to 68, Oduya has to go (unless Bickell goes)

If it only goes up to 68 and the Canadian Dollar stays low, the next two off-seasons are going to suck.
