How many teams Kesler has refused so far? If you want away then accept to be traded to any ****ing team, we're not talking about Iginla here.

It sounds like it's down to Pittsburgh and Anaheim. Pittsburgh can't go toe to toe with Anaheim in a bidding war. Anaheim can beat the Pens top offer (Bennett, Despres, Pouliot and a 1st) and still have a better prospect pool than the Pens.

However, I don't consider the Pens out yet. Mark Madden was talking today and he said that Pittsburgh was Kesler's #1 choice. If he's serious about that, he could pull an Iginla on the Canucks and force a trade to Pittsburgh. I'm not saying that would happen, but it's possible. No one knows if he would waive for Anaheim as well, so that's a big thing too.
This is exactly my thinking. We can overpay and it will not hurt us at all. Especially considering how young our current roster is. (Fowler, Lindholm, Vatanen, Palmieri, SIlfverberg, Maroon)

We'll meet you halfway. 1st is conditional, based on the Ducks reaching the WCF.

Drouin is going to be a top 5 player in this league by the time he hits his peak, don't think Tampa's going to like that.

If it is down to just Pit and Ana, I think it Murray will up the ante to get him. It would be worth it since he is signed for two more years.

Sbisa, Vatanen
Rakell, Silf, Palmieri, Etem
Both first 2014

Choose one from each.

My choice as a Ducks fan would be
Vatanen
Silf
Both firsts

Hope he goes to Anaheim. Definitely don't want him on the Pens.

Penguins simply won't trade the guys who would make sense in exchange for Kesler (I guess the best Canucks could expect is Bennett or Sutter?) You gotta figure Anaheim has the depth to part with someone better.

Kesler has to be dealt after dealing Luongo, take two of your older players off the roster in 1 day is what the Canucks need. But they better get a load for Kesler, good player and even better contract.

Uh this is why players sign NTCs isn't it?

I bet Kesler's order of preference is as follows

American Contenders > Staying on the Canucks > Team he doesn't want to go to

Who says, Who's the source. Every thing that I read said that Kesler would only waive for Pittsburgh, Philly, Detroit and Chicago. I cant see Vancouver dealing Kesler to rival unless It's massive overpayment.

Don't understand why Kesler would waive for Philly and not the Rangers. He must not want to play for his old coach. Otherwise it doesn't make sense to me.

And I can speak for a lot of Canucks fans in saying a lot of us will bandwagon with the Ducks if this trade does go down.

Sutter's value as a piece in a trade dropped to the bottom of the ocean after picking up Mathias today.

That's why players negotiate no trades. I suspect he wants to go to a contending team.

This is probably 99% why, he didn't get along with AV. Same reason he wont go to CBJ with Umberger I bet.

This is literally the only reason. Alain and him have butted heads a lot in the past

If we're doing this trade based on intangibles alone, he ends up in Chicago, no doubt. He has a friend in Patrick Kane, and the Hawks would love to have someone to play with him. With the depth trades they're making it might even be possible that they're clearing up cap to get Kesler in a blockbuster.

All of this, though, is merely speculation. And you have to take the current moves with a grain of salt because Bowman absolutely does not do big blockbusters--especially at the deadline.

My guess is its in Kesler's hands now. If he wants to play for the Ducks then a Duck he will be.
