This team needs to make moves even if its not for this year we need to start shaping this team for the future. Guys like Phillips, Condra, Greening need to go.

How are any of these appealing when you are talking about trading a perennial point per game player and one of the best offensive talents in the league?

Spezza probably comes close to outscoring 3 of them put together.

Spezza is not going anywhere.

I'm curious... does anyone here support signing Phillips for two more years?

Why can't they just deal him? I'd rather have Cowen out there.

How the **** do they watch Phillips play hockey games and think he's worth signing for another 2 years? Management doesn't have a god damn clue.

There's lots of realistic pieces i'd be interested from Anaheim:

NHLers:

Palmieri
Cogliano
Lindholm

Prospects:

Vatanen
Etem
Rakell
DSP

1st Rd Pick obv.

Michalek is a $6 million dollar man this year! (I didn't realize he had expensive bionic parts...thought it was just a bum knee). The WD40 was working there last nite on the Spezza goal.

I wonder what his salvage/scrap value might be in a trade?

Honestly, it brings the core of the grouper closer to peaking at the same time. Spezza peaked and will go down from here on out. A team that peaks together will do much better.

If last night didn't tell you all you need to know, what the hell else can Phillips do to prove its time to thank him for his service and move on to younger players.

I wish you could give team/player options. Give Phillips a 1 year deal with a team option then decline it.

2 years to Phillips would be a mistake. We have two many bottom pairing defenseman signed for next year as it is, especially with Borowiecki graduating to a one-way deal

The only way I am happy with 2 more years with Phillips is if we are extending the rebuild by 2 years and he will pilot the tank.

The only way I would even consider signing Phillips to a 2 year contract, is at 1.5M per season. (or 2M for the first year, 1M for the second)

Anything under 3.5 per would be an epic, epic steal.

I'm just in awe at their prospect pool considering how good they are now.

I would easily do Lindholm + our first + decent cap dump for Spezza.

I think Lindholm can be a #1 two way guy. Having either him or Karlsson on the ice for the whole game = cream my pants.

Methot Karlsson
Lindholm Ceci
Cowen Anyone

That's an incredibly talented blue line. Maybe best in the league when they gain more experience. Then you grab a wing with our pick and run with Turris Zib Smith down the middle or trade Cowen for a good winger.

I'd imagine in reality it will be more like 2y/2.5 per

Stempniak would be a good pickup and wouldn't cost much. He would be pretty much across the hall and could play tonight.

The only way I would find it acceptable is they are planning on moving one or some of the other defenesemen in different deals. Otherwise he can **** right the **** off.
