We have enough plugs. Stan is the king of picking up garbage and hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. No thanks on Manny.

Manny has actually been quite useful for the Canes this year. He plays hungry, is a faceoff ace and kills penalties.

I'd be happy to get some return on him, but perfectly fine with keeping him too. Not sure why he's being called a bum, garbage, plug, etc...

Not watching him. He's been playing great and would be a high quality acquisition for the Hawks.

Completely fine. I've actually been fairly impressed with his vision.

Let's not overrate Malhotra here. He's a great faceoff specialist who can add a physical element, but he's a fourth liner with limited scoring ability. If you expect anything else, you'll be disappointed. But he is useful.

Words like "plug," "garbage," or "bum" don't belong in the same sentence as Manny Malhotra.

ThenHawks don't need a 4C. We need a 2C. We already have players at C that have 11 points in 50 games. Our 4th line is stacked at the moment and the only use for him may be at 3C. Manny is not what the Hawks need at the moment. To me Manny is plugish.

He wears an A for Carolina and is one of the best faceoff guys in the league. Just because he doesn't fit on your team doesn't mean he's a plug. Ignorance.

I am all for getting Manny if it means Handzus is put to pasture. Play him 3rd line C, put Shaw up with Saad and Kane on the second line.

You can take Kane instead if you can find him. We haven't seen him much this 2014 year.

Yeah, cut Hawks fans some slack in this case my friend, you have to understand that most of us are sick of seeing Stan Bowman pick up the same damn player every year and Manny follows that trend in a Handzus-esque fashion.

Shaw has looked the best playing with Kane out of all the 2nd line Cs this season (not saying much I know), and I realize that Handzus isn't going anywhere, but he doesn't have to play.

Yes because the words put to pasture = saying trade a guy... you know he's scratchable right?

5 on 5 stats for Patrick Kane

w/ Andrew Shaw: 188:41 TOI, 7 goals, 7 assists, 14 points
1.802 GF/20, 0.424 GA/20, 81.0 GF%
22.90 CF/20, 15.37 CA/20, 59.8 CF%

w/ Marcus Kruger: 62:16 TOI, 0 goals, 1 assist, 1 point
0.642 GF/20, 0.642 GA/20, 50.0 GF%
17.02 CF/20, 17.34 CA/20, 49.5 CF%

w/ Michael Handzus: 274:25 TOI, 0 goals, 7 assists, 7 points
0.656 GF/20, 0.729 GA/20, 47.4 GF%
17.13 CF/20, 16.33 CA/20, 51.2 CF%

w/ Brandon Pirri: 216:12 TOI, 4 goals, 4 assists, 8 points
0.833 GF/20, 0.740 GA/20, 52.9 GF%
20.17 CF/20, 17.58 CA/20, 53.4 CF%

Yep, Kane has been most productive with Shaw followed by Pirri. He has been brutal with Kruger and not very good at all with Handzus.

Malholtra is a really good player and would be a smart pickup for CHI; in the playoffs there are always a few critical situations where you need a faceoff win.
