Thank God he's assigned to Hamilton. He is awful. Id rather just keep Tokarski up.

Gotta feel bad for the guy... He was the starting goaltender of the Edmonton Oilers at the start of the year and then the team that is aquiring him doesn't even put him 3rd in the deph chart.

Anyway the Habs now have a lot of deph at the goalie position wich cannot be a bad thing!!!

He was on waivers. Habs cannot claim him on waivers and then send him to Hamilton. Therefore, Nashville traded him to us for peanuts, and we can send him down if we want. Turns out: we want!

This is likely Bergevin's response to the critics that say Montreal needs to add some size. They can call him up an boost the average height on the team by about an inch when the statistitians are around.

Finnish text-tv either has a sense of irony or a mistype..
quick translate:
goaltender Dubnyk from Nashville to Montreal, what the Canadian team gets will be decided in the future

Edmonton paid him millions. Not being allowed to wear mattress size pads destroyed him.

I remember certain Oil fans claiming Dubnyk was as good as Price and was the reason why they did not want Price last year. I would love to see those fans' faces now...lol

Dubnyk is simple insurance in case Price is out long term or something happens to Budaj. This was a security blanket type of deal. Good move by Bergevin...especially since Price did not go the other way...lol

I think Montreal can re-work him into a solid goaltender. If not, we lose nothing. Zero risk - medium reward.

Dubnyk was putting up reasonable numbers on terrible hockey teams until this season.

Sometimes we, as fans, are wrong with our opinions. It happens. If you want to know, I'm not upset about this. I'm putting meh about Dubnyk at this point. He's not our problem anymore, we literally paid someone to take him off our hands.

Up until this year, Dubnyk was actually putting up better numbers than Price

Guess they've picked him up just in case Price is out longer, though I don't see the point in sending him down and not Tokarski.

Seems like revisionist history. Are you certain that it wasn't Oiler fans arguing that the value difference wasn't as great as most thought. I have a hard time believing that anyone would have actually rather had Price than Dubnyk.
I remember Price playing poorly for most of last year, and Dubnyk stealing games for Edmonton. Price put his bad year behind him and Dubnyk fell off a cliff. In short, last year, it was actually somewhat close.

Edmonton retained some, Nashville retained some and since he was sent down to Hamilton, none of the rest counts against Montreal's cap.
