Halak is an upgrade on Holtby. Solid move for Washington. Doubt it's more than a 3rd.

Neuvirth makes sense. No need to add picks.

Penner, Klesla and Halak. Washington has quietly had a pretty good deadline while not really giving up anything.

Sportsnet just said it's rumored to be Neuvirth + 6th.

The Capitals still have nightmares about spring 2010.

Halak is a great acquisition!

Glad he went someplace that he can either push their current goalie, or take the #1 spot. Good luck, Halak!

hope we send neuvirth the other way, it would suck to have to send him down and he would get a good chance succeeding in buffalo.

Finally. I hated seeing Caps lose so many games because of Holtby killing momentum and being useless in net allowing soft goals over and over

Capitals are underrated because of their horrible goaltending. Not saying Halak is their savior but a huge improvement

So incredibly false. The Caps give up the 4th most shots in the league because they've got a horrid defense and are a terrible even strength team.

while you are both right are that our defense suck that doesn't mean holtby has been great by default. holtby has been terrible this year, we all know it.

This. The Capitals have now upgraded everywhere except where they needed to upgrade.

Guess caps should have picked up some people who could pick up play the PK then.

Good deal for the Sabres. They were really busy the last few days.

Just my opinion but Halak should help tremendously. I watch a lot of games and every Capitals game I seen Holtby has let in a few soft goals. We will see.

The defensemen on our second unit are John Erskine and Connor Carick. One can't move and the other is an undersized 19 year old. Everyone but McPhee knows where the problem is.
