I didn't know you could butcher Galchenyuk's name that bad

Anyways:
Gally-DD-Patches
Vanek-Pleks-Brière
Chucky-Eller-Prust
Moen-White-Weise

Gorges-Subban
Markov-Emelin
Tinordi-Murray

Price
Budaj
Dubnyk
Tokarski

I put Vanek and Brière together because they have past chemistry. I would like to call up Beaulieu and put him in for Murray.

Do the right thing, Therrien. Plekanec is the one who badly needs a real winger here.

Vanek Plekanec Briere
Pacioretty Desharnais Gallagher
Galchenyuk Eller Gionta
Bourque Prust Moen

Bournival Weise Parros

Well, they played quite a bit together (especially on the PP) in '05/06 and '06/07 (you can check their scoring logs). I might actually try something like that out. Maybe even something like:

Vanek - Pleks - Briere
MaxPac - DD - Gionta
Eller - Galchenyuk - Gallagher (as it should be, imo)
Bournival - White - Prust/Moen/Parros/Weise
Bourque -> curb

Nah that's not automatic. He has a significant history on the left wing + Therrien might want to separate the offense without re-creating the EGG line.

So when will MT send his famous "message" to Vanek? 5 games in? 10? 20?

1- Put Gionta where he belongs, which is on the 3rd line.

2- I absolutely want to see Galchenyuk play with Vanek. That would be the best for his learning process and would probably become the most productive line with Plekanec.

I think Bournival can more or less do the same job as Gallagher, freeing Gally to go back and form the EGG line. I would keep Gionta with Vanek and Plekanec cause he's bound to get some juicy rebounds.

You have to keep Gionta away from Vanek or Vanek will never see the puck.

This is probably not the thread to post this on but I didnt see another one talking about this so...

What are the chances that Vanek resigns in MTL this offseason? And can they afford to keep him?

According to capgeek our salary for next season is at $46,630,833 with the cap going up to $71,000,000 next season that gives us which gives us around $24,369,167 to play with.

- Safe to say we will be signing PK to a long term contract lets just say with a cap hit of $8,000,000 per year.
- Then we sign Markov to a couple years at $6,000,000
- Eller around $3,000,000 per year (sounds kinda high for a guy who has been horrible in the past 40 some games... but knowing MTL they will give it to him)
- Weise and White around $1,000,000 each (if we decide to keep both of them)
- Assuming Beaulieu is in the lineup thats another $925,000

So that comes up to $19,925,000

leaving us $4,444,167 which is not nearly enough to keep him in MTL, with buyouts and potential trades lets say we have a total of $7,000,000, do you guys think that would be enough to sign him?

I really like how our top 6 is looking now with him in the lineup and would love to keep it that way going into next season

Vanek should probably play on a separate line from Pacioretty. Plekanec needs someone like Vanek on his line. I think he'll be put with him.

Probably:

Patches - DD - Gallagher
Vanek - Pleks - Gionta
Galchenyuk - Eller - Briere or Bourque
Moen - White - Prust/Weise

A lot of forwards. I guess Bournival is going to Hamilton?

No you'll need to let Markov & Gionta walk, no choice.

No the roster isn't limited anymore so they can keep him around regardless of whether he's injured or not.

If (and it's a big if) Vanek can spark some of that old buffalo chemistry with Briere and get him going... this could be a really deep forward core.

A third line of Chuckie Eller Gio would be able to exploit other third lines offensively, while being responsible defensively. I like.

This really scares me. Therrien has too much respect for Gionta. Just put him on the 3rd line already.

Isn't it awesome how one player can change the whole look of a team?

Just think how much an acquisition like this means to the team as a whole. It basically says that they believe that the Habs (with Vanek) can make some noise this upcoming post-season.

It gives further motivation to the players, especially to forwards such as Plekanec. It tells Carey Price that they're trying to get him the goal support that he needs.

I guarantee every single player on that team is excited to practice and play alongside Vanek.

You know how during games it seems obvious that Galchenyuk is the most skilled forward on the team? Well, that's about to change he's got some competition

Gionta-Pleks-Briere
Patches-DD-Vanek
EGG
Weisse-Prust-Moen

Bournival/Bourque

This would give us the most balanced lineup
or

Galchenyuk-Pleks-Vanek (sick line BTW)
Patches-DD-Gallagher
Gionta-Eller-Briere
Weisse-Prust-Moen
Bournival/Bourque

This would be offensively scary.... but the 3rd line worries me.

Pretty much this. Can be lots of rotating on the 4th line. Will force guys to earn a spot

Chemistry aside, and it was like 7 years ago, Briere shouldn't be playing first line minutes with Pleks and Vanek.

This is the perfect opportunity to have Galchenyuk further his offensive game.

I think vanek and Gallagher would be menacing together. Vanek has arguably the best hands around the crease, and gallagher knows how to get the puck there. Put them with a centre of your choice. I'll go with plekanec.

Bournival is injured right now and when he comes back he wont get much time to play. He should just be sent down so that he will get some minutes as a youngster.

Bourque can sit all the time. Parros can play bs Boston and such. Otherwise our 4th line should always see at least White and Moen.

Galchenyuk - Plekanec - Vanek
Pacioretty -DD - Gallagher
Prust - Eller - Gionta
Moen - White - Weise

Bournival is injured. He could play on the fourth instead of Weise or White.

Briere and Bourque should both sit in favor of Prust (when hell be back). Prust-Eller-Gionta would be our defensive line. If you want it to be more punchy pit Bourque on it and Prust on the fourth with Moen/White.
