Condra is a useless piece of garbage, get him the hell out of the top 6..and off the team. with all the good prospects we have the fact the BM keeps him is hilarious. But doesn't surprise me, because BM is a delusional sack of **** GM.

I agree with you. But when you think Hemsky was available at a low cost, and did not mean moving out a prospect at all, I guess I can justify it to some degree. I'm not 100% convinced Stewart is who we need anyway, and Hemsky is a really good addition.

You really need to find another hobby than watching hockey if you're getting this upset over a bottom 6 grinder.

Hemsky is only 30, and moving to the East could be a great thing for him...especially in our run and gun offense receiving passes from Spez and EK.

He will never be a ppg player again, but I don't doubt he could be a 20/40 guy here for a couple years. Edm fans said he doesn't have any lingering effects from his previous injuries.

Time will tell if Hemsky is a' really good addition.'

For the price you can't go wrong even if it fails

Comments like this make me wonder if people are actually fans if the team or just fans of "winning teams".

I hope we never win a Cup! That'll show stupid face Melynk!!

Condra on the 2nd line?

This is why Conacher should have been kept. Bobby on the top line with Turris, Conacher on teh 3rd line with Zib.

I love the Senators. If I were a fan of winning teams I'd be cheering for a team besides the Senators long before now. Anyone in business knows you have to spend money to make money. When I see players getting frustrated & becoming indifferent because this team isn't built to compete, then I get scared. When we start losing star players to free agency, I won't have any questions as to why.

When did I say I wouldn't be a fan? I'd be a fan if we were sitting in the same place as Buffalo right now.

Ottawa Senators ‏@Senators 3h

Here are tonight's projected (read: guessed) lineups for the #Sens and Flames.
See the bold. No one but MacLean knows yet probably.

Fans don't wish their team lose when they're four points out if the playoffs because the owner doesn't respond to their hissy fits about how much he should spend.

Those guys on the ice have nothing to do with Melynk. But hey, keep being an awesome fan that roots on the guys to lose.

Hemsky has been playing very well this season even if the numbers aren't up to where they should be. I imagine playing with Spezza instead of Gagner alone will boost his point production. I know this might not be true but playing in the Eastern conference will if anything benefit Hemsky.

Having defencemen like Karlsson who can actually make a breakout pass to a flying Hemsky out of the zone could be exciting to watch because he is always open yet with the Oilers he would rarely receive that pass.

I'll be watching tonight and I'm now a part fan of the Sens. Living in Toronto this works out quite nicely actually, I'll be able to see him play more often.

I am not sure what to think about that, to be honest. My gut feeling is that he can't step up in that way any longer. He was paying to the cap ceiling when the cap ceiling was much lower than it is right now. My understanding is that his net worth took a hit in various way that are not important here. The bottom line for me is what happens next year when the TV cash starts to roll in. If our payroll goes up at a reasonable rate then I will be ok. If he keeps us near the cap floor I will be completely pissed off, whether it is fair or not.

Hopefully we can call up Stone soon and play him on the 3rd line.

I want these lines:

Hoffman-Spezza-MacArthur
Hemsky-Turris-Ryan
Michalek-Zibanejad-Condra
Greening-Smith-Neil

Feel like Ryan+Hemsky is better than Spezza+Hemsky. Need the trigger guy Ryan is to have a competent passer like Hemsky.

I'd love nothing more than for Ottawa to catch fire & make the playoffs but I'm speaking as a realist. I just want Melnyk to realize that you cannot TRULY compete in this league & be a penny pincher at the same time. If anyone uses us making it to Round 2 of the playoffs last year as an example of how I'm wrong, just remember what happened in Round 2.

That would require Murray to trade Condra.

Which will never happen.

When you frame it this way I actually 100% agree with you. I still wouldn't hope the team gets torched in an important game though.
