Sad. He had a superbe game, and then he's out.

I love Prust and I want him in there, but this isn't as big as last year when he wasn't healthy down the stretch. We have a surplus of bottom 6'ers right now.
I wonder how he was able to avoid surgery last year when it was obvious he had issues. I would think it has to be a guarantee this off season.

That had to happen.

I hope he won't come back unless he is 100%..If it is possible ever gain for him. He always played bigger than his body could take really. This year he should not had fight as enough as he did. Parros' injuries and lackluster play did not help him.

Really sucks but Prust has been way too fragile, this guy needs like a good 6 months off and recuperate once and for all

We have more than enough to cover any other bottom six role. Prust brings more to the bottom than anyone else and causes our team to have confidence and play better

this ****ing sucks...not everybody realizes what a huge piece this is....i hope he can be back by playoffs.....and that the reason for the complete reg season right off is just to make sure he's rested enough for them.

indeed. One of the last guys you want to lose this time of year. Kind of player that gets you passed teams in the playoffs.

This had to happen. Prust needs to rest up for the playoffs. We have enough players to fill in for now.

He'll take his shift, not his place. Far less intimidating, far less of a hockey player.

Prust often fought in his first game back from injury, never liked that for a $2.5m guy who's a pretty good hockey player but has some recurring injuries. Oh well hope he's ready for the playoffs and 100% for next season.

Not this year. White has been better.

I've been impressed with Weaver. He's solid.

Better at doing what exactly? White tries hard but doesn't do much of anything out there.

I guess getting Weise was wise.

That's a good example of perhaps there being other variables to a move other than the transaction specifically..just like the Weaver pickup..little did we know that Gorges had a broken hand. I'm fairly sure Bergy was weary of Prust's shoulder woes when he picked up Weise.

If Bournival come back in force, Bournival-Eller-Weise could be a good 4th line if they decide to put Moen with Plekanec and Gionta on a shut down line.

Faceoffs and killing penalties.
Prust had a really great game the other night, but he hasn't been playing well at all leading up to that.

I'd love to think Bergevin is as strategic as you think he is, but even if it was dumb luck, Weise looks like a brilliant move right now.

The Weise move was good. Sucks for Prust but hopefully he takes this time to recover fully.

Bournival has lost his place until he gains some experience or another player gets hurt. Besides, if Moen is promoted, who sits?

Agreed. This season, Prust has declined while White has improved. Prust has that veteran leadership quality, but White brings more elements on the ice and has become a better skater too.

Bourque sits unless he finds his game back against Toronto. Right now Bourque is a buyout candidate.

Bourque's already sitting and we still have a full lineup, even without Prust. Sure, Bournival's speed is fantastic, but his overall game just isn't developed enough to replace anyone currently playing.
