Forsberg or Iginla

Sure we are all tickled pink to have Forsberg with us but if both were to stay healthy, who would you rather have?

I'd have to say Iginla. Something about him in a flyers jersey gives me goosebumps. Don't get me wrong I'm ecstatic about Foppa but would be a tad bit more thrilled to have Iggy.

Iginla isn't in his prime yet. Keep in mind, he has not had the players that Forsberg has had to play with. Put Iginla with Sakic.

I am drooling with anticipation to see Foresberg run a muck with the orange and black.....but I would take Iggy hands down right now.

If both were guaranteed to play the same amount of games I'd take Forsberg in a heartbeat.

Forsberg is a better player plus:

Centers >>>>>>>> Wingers

I'd probably go with Iginla, if he had the guys around him Forsberg has had he would be scoring so much more. Iginla is younger also and in my view the best player in the world. But hey Forsberg is still pretty dam good.

Forberg in a heartbeat, he's never had an offseason (not including inury plagued seasons)
While Iggy is great, he will never hold a candle to Forsberg in his prime.

Iggy due to injury history. The thing about Forsberg however, much more so than Iginla, he makes everyone around him better.

I'd be happy with a healthy Forsberg over Iginla

Anyone who picked Iginal must be either joking or on crack
GP G A P
career stats 626 250 253 503
Playoff stats 28 14 10 24
And Now Forsberg GP G A P
career stats 580 216 525 741
Playoff stats 133 57 97 154

Case and point FORSBERG hands down

Context, my friend.

You plug Forsberg into Calgary where the second most potent offensive force is Craig Conroy or Martin Gelinas, then put Iginla in with Sakic, Blake, Foote, Bourque, Tanguay, Hejduk and Co. and you'd probably end up with different results.

Personally, I think Forsberg is more valuable, but comparing the point totals directly is pretty stupid in my opinion.

Talk about homers now that Foppa is in a Flyers uni.

Iginla is on my most hated team, and I hate him as equally as Peter, but Jarome carried an average team within one goal of the SC.

Peter's almost always injured during the playoffs, and was non-existent with Colorado's 2nd championship. Sakic carries the load on that team, always has, always will. Forsberg's just along for the ride.

He's a good scorer and solid mix of offense and physicality but he is no way close to the kind of player Iginla is.

Through thier careers I would take Foresberg...but right now Iginla would be the far better choice for flyers.

Younger, not prone to injury and we need wingers more then we need a centermen.

My friend, you are right but when the differnce is 250 points then there is only so much context.
Furthermore look at Heatly or Kovlycuck(both having almost a point a game average)(iginla .80ppg and Forsberg 1.27ppg, thats a .47point differnce) on Atlanta which is comparable to Calgray, plus didnt Calagry make it to the Stanley Cup finals in 2004.
Once again hands down Forsberg.

Homer?? Iginla had a couple good seasons.. Forsberg had a flawless career.
If I had a choice at anyone coming here, it would have been him no ands ifs or buts.

You're just buzzing dude if you think Sakic carried the team.
I suggest you do some research and look up stats.

There was no Tanguay Hejduk Blake Bourque in Forsberg's early Quebec/Colorado yrs and he was a point and a half player.

Your logic is skewed.

Forsberg indeed has huge numbers, but I wouldnt say hands down Forsberg.

Foppa not a warrior?????

God, i dont even want to touch this.
No one gets into those corners and grinds like he does.

Amazing how everyone wanted Foppa and would give their left nut for him, but the minute they didnt get him, he became an injury plagued has been.

The point I would make is that assists only count if someone scores the goal, and that is the source of Forsberg's big PPG advantage.

Iginla has to provide much of that offense himself. How many offensive players has he played with in his career? I mean honestly.

I'm not knocking Forsberg here, but I wouldn't say it's hands down. Forsberg is the more valuable player, but not by leaps and bounds.

Yeah, just Valeri Kamensky, Scott Young, Adam Deadmarsh, Claude Lemieux, Owen Nolan, Mike Ricci...but those guys SUCKED!

Name some of Iginla's stellar linemates.

No its due to Forsberg's hockey sense and skill level being 10 fold that of Iginla.
