Karlsson is only going to get better.
Really excited for Zbad, Lazar, Ceci, Lehner and Pageau.

He can't seem to make the bold trades necessary though to get us over the top.

Bishop was almost traded for Couturier and it went through cause Philly had cold feet. ADD SOMETHING, ENTICE THEM.
i love that this fallacy keeps getting recycled, and even if it were true HOW DO YOU KNOW HE DIDNT?

Turris was a bold trade considering the circumstances and Ryan was a bold trade.

I think too many assume one guy is going to change the team dramatically. Fact is it won't since the existing core isn't competitive vis a vis the top teams.

Ottawa to be competitive they need to retool their top six and add a D to their top 4.

While it is easy to say, I would love to hear how BM would achieve this without giving up several of Turris, Ryan, Zibanejad, Karlsson, Lazar, Prince, Puempel, etc plus a gaggle of draft picks.

IMO Murray is doing everything he can do, which includes developing his prospects and being patient.

Dude you're basing yourself on a rumor.

Who knows if that's true.

OK I'm going to show you something, and hopefully you and everyone else who keeps whining about the Bishop trade will finally shut up about it.

Both of these trades are from April 3rd, 2013:

Ben Bishop to TBL - Cory Conacher, 2013 4th round pick to OTT

Steve Mason to PHI - Michael Leighton, 2015 3rd round pick to CBJ

Look at that trade and tell me again we could have gotten Couturier for Bishop. Tossing in an extra 4th round pick or something would not have convinced them to trade the guy they picked 8th overall 2 years before with that other deal on the table.

Look at the 3rd rounds from 2007 and 2008, or even go as far back as 2003. How many of them have played 200+ NHL games?

Also,

From over 2,000 players selected in the third round and beyond during 1990s, just 261 made it as NHL career players. That's about 12 percent.

The only name that was confirmed in rumours with Philly for Bishop were Rinaldo. Couturier was a pipe dream by fans over valuing how much we'd get in return for Bish.

Like always I don't have time to reply for now... But yeah I guess the point wasn't clear enough. I'm not talking about the quality of players we develop (and frankly it's way too early to tell) but about the quantity! It's a good sign that we are a NHL players producing machine once again. Remains to be seen how it will pay off for the Sens

Again in 2011, we could have moved up to #2 to grab Lando for our 1st pick and our 2nd first rounder. Lando > Zib + Noesen/Puemple
I don't think either of these were trades.. I remember the price to move up in 2011 was ridiculous. and in 09 we couldn't even move up 2 spots to get OEL....
My prediction... Tavares will play a game/games in a sens jersey before his career is done... book that.
