Boycott the Toronto Sun

Am I the only one who is disgusted by the headlines of the Sun today. ...from this day forth, I will never buy that Rag. ...not that Bergers article in the Star was that great either.

At least link to www.torontosun.com.

And what a surprise, the Sun with crappy, sensationalist journalism, I never would've expected it.

The newspaper's headline (not the sports section) read
Will 88 need 9-1-1
in huge bold black letters

" The Toronto Maple Leafs need their heads checked for signing Eric Lindros, who has an eggshell for a noggin, fans say. "

Lol. If I ever meet a Leafs fan I'm gonna punch him in the face. They say the most annoying things, usually directly to the Sun.

"LEAFS DOING REASONABLY WELL CONSIDERING ALL THE FACTS!!!!"

Think it'll sell?

...and how long have you been staring at those ridiculous headlines before coming to this epiphany?

I sometimes find the headlines droll but mostly they are misleading, sensationalistic, and intellectually lazy.

I won't agree to a boycott because even ignorance should be available to those who want it.

all that went through my mind was that this kid dreamed his entire life to play for the Leafs, and when he finally gets his lifes wish this is the memory he can paste into his scrap book.
I hope he does not to give an interview to anyone that works for the Sun ever.

That's messed up. Make you wonder why anyone would want to play in Toronto, especially take a pay cut to play for their home town.

I think mature and sophisticated people judge cities on criteria other than tabloid headlines. London, Copenhagen, New York etc etc all have their idiotic tabloids that trumpet trivial but sensational stories within.

Go to The Toronto Sun's web page......choose contact us....and write the editor an e-mail stating your displeasure........

Kevin O'connor is not a respected hockey editor anyways....maybe he should be writing for The National Enquirer....

Does anyone take the toronto sun seriously? It's well known that their columnist are out right terrible in everyway. That's why they have a chick on page 3 and a large sports pullout. Their average reader is from the age of 12 - 25... no joke. Toronto Star is a much more credible newspaper.

The Sun Chain all over the country is joke.

Tabloid Stories mixed with conservative populatist rhetoric and scantly clad woman.

... and the Globe is that much more credible, etc. etc.

In any event, always useful to remember that journalists (ok, that's too much dignity... reporters) don't write their own headlines, the editor does. For what little that's worth.

The fact that people are surprised at the Sun's lack of class frankly astounds me.

The Edmonton Sun here basically praised Toronto for taking a low risk, high reward gamble on Lindros. Just find it sad that a guy hasn't even played a game as a Leaf and he's already being bashed in his home city.

At least give someone the benefit of a doubt.

i took your advice, i was mad too but didn't think of writing....i ripped into him, but here is only a small caption of what I said.
Kevin O'Connor I hope that you get a chance to read this, because how you reported this whole Eric Lindros article is a complete joke. Who are you anyway? Nothing more than a sad excuse of a hockey editor. Well you've done it again - amazed me about your level of intelligence. Do yourself a favour (and all who read the Sun) and resign please. It's a crappy paper, but you're only bringing them down.

hehe its a nice way to close out my many paragraphs of arguments.

Lindros must be a grit...

Godfrey will sick Worthington on him now...Some stupid headline - 'This Grit ain't got no Grit'. Or 'There's a Red hiding in the Blue and White.'

Good Grief. It's the Sun.

The Sun is about as trashy as it gets.

And trash sells.

No surprises here.
