Bob Miller Returning For 2014-15 Season

Helene Elliott ‏@helenenothelen 5m
Kings' voice Bob Miller has agreed to new one-year contract through June 30, 2015. Squeezing that into print/web stuff filed earlier...

Helene Elliott ‏@helenenothelen 50s
and yes, one-year term is Bob Miller's choice. he has done that for a while now.

Would Nick Nickson take over? I'd assume he would. I know I'll be flamed, but I like Nick better than Bob. And I love Bob. Nick's voice is just perfect.

Nick would be the easy replacement considering he's been the radio guy for seemingly forever.

Which of course makes me wonder if Jim Fox would retire with Bob.

Good to hear. I'll honestly probably cry when he decides to retire.

Yes it will. I just wish they would do the same thing the Dodgers did for Scully. Allow Bob to do all the home games and those on the west coast but break someone in for the other games. I remember seeing him say he asked for something like this a few years back and the team said no. But that would allow us to get use to hearing someone else and make the shock that much less.

Don't rip the band-aid off.

Nicks voice is perfect.

I remember running into Bob in an elevator as a kid and he asked me my favorite sport... Out of nervousness I said soccer lol.

I will miss Bob when he goes, but thank God Nick is no slouch.

I would think Jim would stay along longer, but luckily Daryl Evans is very good. I enjoy his TV work also. He needs a new fashion coordinator though.

That's awesome. I usually don't say anything when I meet someone famous, I just nod my head in approval. I'm afraid what will come out of my mouth, lol.

I've never known a Kings broadcast without him. Glad to have him for as long as he wants to do it.

Daryl is good, but his only problem is sometimes he tries to sound smarter than he is and it comes out goofy. I have to agree though, I think Fox will be around after Bob is gone. I think Nick is great too, but the only problem is he's not THAT much younger than Bob. I cringe at the thought of ending up with some assclown like Ahlers...

I've felt the same way for years.....I mean I love Bob, but prefer Nick any day of the week.

Same here. But that's only been the case for the last 5-6 years when Bob has started showing signs of aging. I will be very disappointed if the Kings don't give him the gig when Bob retires. His turn to be on TV is long overdue.

Not having Bob would suck monkey ballz. But having Nick or Daryl in there would make the transition a little easier.

I'm pretty sure Nick Nickson did the color commentary before Jim Fox arrived and prior to Nick doing the radio gig. My guess is he is the succession plan and I think he is perfect for the job. I think Jim Fox will keep his gig and they'll get somebody new to do the radio broadcasts with Daryl.

Awesome, it wont be the same when Bob does retire, but as others have suggested, I think Nick Nickson will do a good job as a replacement. I just hope we are lucky enough to have him promoted to TV from radio when the time comes.

Has to be Nick's job to decline....
Speaking of a Kings broadcast without Bob, it was a thrill the other day to hear Jiggs McDonald doing the Islanders-Flames game.

After listening to the ducks broadcast tonight, it just makes me appreciate Bob and Jim even more. Bob and Jim have to be the classiest broadcasting duo in all of sports. Its going to be a sad day when Bob is finally done, but Nick will do a good job of filling in.
