What would the Flames want in return?

Bruins fan asking.

Operating under the hypothesis that he's changed his mind and is willing to leave Alberta, it would be picks or prospects/young players most likely. e.g. a 2015 1st rounder from Boston/Pittsburgh or a guy like Despres (+?)

I think we'd be asking for Boychuk in return.

We'll take McQuaid too for cap space.

Glencross
2015 3rd

Boychuk
McQuaid

-Contracts can't be argued, Glencross and Boychuk are both on one year left.

He probably won't waive his NTC

But for arguments sake

Glencross

McQuaid
2015 3rd/4th

Glencross is still one of the most underrated players in the league. He has one of the highest shooting %'s (17.9% over the past 4 seasons), has a deadly wrist shot, and is gritty as hell.

I'd be asking for a 1st and a good prospect. However, I'd be much more inclined to just re-sign him. He's the type of player that epitomizes the identity that the Flames are trying to maintain.

I'd like this deal from a value standpoint, but with Monahan, Backlund, Stajan down the middle... (and Bennett probably playing next season) there isn't really any room.

I would do Boychuk straight up.
We need dmen badly.
Glencross didn't seem to be as motivated for parts of last season. I think he's ready to move onto a contender. I think on a good team he would score 25+ goals next year.

He would on Calgary too, if he wasn't injured. He scored at a 26 goal pace last year.

If he wants to go though, then he can go. If he wants to stay, he can stay. That's how I see it.

Glencross should be moved as part of the rebuild, not part of filling out this year's roster.

Sign Tom Gilbert for 1 year.

Trade Glencross for a 1st, he's worth it. I have to think he'll be open to a deal at some point this year, as he's due for a big raise and I can't imagine the Flames will be the ones to give it to him.

I'm betting Darryl Sutter has already made an attempt at acquiring him, only to be shot down. There's a reason he's still in Calgary.

3 types of deals that would intrigue me for Glencross:

1) A first round pick

2) A young defenseman

3) 2nd + B level defensive prospect

I guess Boston can always dump Kelly on us, but I'd want you to give us Boychuk as part of the deal.

Pretty sure any Flames' fan here is asking for Boychuk straight up for Glencross.

Swap Schroeder for a 2nd or Tanev one for one and that seems like a good deal.

I like Tanev, I'd do Tanev straight up.

So far:

Glencross

Tanev

or

Glencross

Boychuk

I like the Tanev deal but I wouldn't do the Boychuk deal considering he has one year left on his deal, would much rather have a late first in a deep draft.

^ Agreed.

Wait until a Canuck fan chimes in though. I have a feeling they won't want to deal Tanev in this particular deal.

Ya I doubt Benning deals Tanev for Glencross straight up. We have no RHD besides Bieksa that can play a top 4 role.

I'd do Corrado + 3rd 2016 for Glencross
