Yeah to bolster the AHL squad. No one would risk an NHL contract on a guy who might lose his desire to play again.

any rumblings on whether or not Peter Mueller may be signing with an NHL team?

I would like the Avs to give him another shot on a 1 year deal.

Winnipeg has a need for a couple middle six forwards and he has been mentioned prior to leaving for Europe and this winter as well.

Like the size , speed , scoring he can provide . Still young and hopefully hungry , someone I would certainly be investigating .

He always turned into one of the best players in the league in NHL 10

Well the Avs could certainly use another right handed winger now.

Mueller and speed don't really belong in the same sentence.

Always liked him. Still remember the Wolski trade. He was fire after the deadline deal.

Slow, soft, lazy, terrible defensively. Sulks and pouts. Mental midget.

If you have a terrible team, that has no clearly defined system, and a really bad head coach that doesn't require any buy in or accountability, he is a good fit to float around and rack up some points. The minute your team is expected to tighten up, play within a system, play effectively as a group, and actually win some games, he will stick out like a sore thumb.

Really hoping Mueller stays away from Colorado. Luckily the management most likely to bring him in is gone.

I really enjoyed watching him play for the Panthers. He has some skill and good hockey sense for sure.

I was sad that we didn't resign him.

Wish him all the best with his next club though.

why risk that it will pay off and win some games?

If you have a terrible team check, that has no clearly defined system check, and a really bad head coach that doesn't require any buy in or accountability just work hard, he is a good fit to float around and rack up some points. Sounds like a perfect short-term fit for the sabres. Obviously we're not in a position to win now, our forward depth (in particular, offensive forwards) is awful, and we need to spend. He obviously wouldn't be in the picture when our new core starts getting us places

And why not take a shot at a reclamation project? Former first rounders put it together at some point, and we've taken a lot of reclamations over the past year (omark, etc)

I know this is a side note but on GM mode NHL 14 Justin Schultz is a 95 overall for me for some reason. I appreciate EA's optimism

Loved him with Florida. Unfortunate things didn't work out too well for us. He did score a lot of goals. He will get a cheap one year deal with any club that's interested.

Wow, why didn't Vancouver sign this guy last year?

Whichever team signs Stastny will take a flyer on Mueller.

8 in 43 is a lot these days? Unless you're referring to this season in the Swiss league.

Mueller is a great defition of an ex NHL player that fell between the two categories, which is why he can't find a place anymore as he's getting older. Not nearly productive enough to justify playing him in the top6, and nowhere near defensively responsible and physical enough to be worth bottom6 minutes.
