Not a bad move for the Coyotes.

How can I make this anymore clear????????????????? Fairchild is still the property of the St. Louis Blues.....chicago had no room on their blueline and so he was recalled and then loaned to Portland. Portland needed the help since they have little there and Fairchild gets playing time.
He WAS NOT traded by St. Louis to PHX and I DID NOT misunderstand him....especially since when I asked him I laid out the scenario that Fairchild was NOT traded to PHX but was loaned by St. Louis to Portland, in spite of what was being said...his reply, Yes it was a loan. What is there to be misunderstood?????????????

The NHL, Blues, and Coyotes all say he was traded.

Do you really think people won't go with that over what a guy on a message board says?

Fairchild had a great WJC for USA in 07, I believe it was.

Played some real good hockey for them and was a standout on their blueline. I didn't think he'd be a phenomenal defender by any means, but I thought he'd at least have a regular job in the NHL.

The St. Louis Blues literally put out a press release that directly contradicts what you say. Why should anyone care what you say, since it's hearsay at best?

It's not that we don't believe you... it's just that we believe the first-hand and reputable sources a little more than a stranger on an internet forum who claims to have had a chat (with no context given) with the assistant general manager to the farm team of the team who actually owns the guys rights. :/

I'm sure your interaction happened, but I don't see why the Blues would announce it as a trade if it didn't happen...

Well it's lovely that that you believe so heavily in something you were supposedly told, but I had an interview with Wolves beat writer Paul LaTour, and he said it was a trade, not a loan. Not to mention the NHL, St. Louis Blues, and Phoenix Coyotes all say it was a trade as well.

So even though you believe what you were told, the MUCH more reputable sources are saying you're wrong.

Who cares? Portland is still going to finish in last place, right? Fairchild is still going to be a twenty five year old sub six foot offensive defenseman who suffered statistical regression in college and the AHL, spent time in the echl this season and probably will never skate a shift in the NHL?

So this qualifies for debate?

To be fair, he has played 5 NHL games.

The debate isn't about the player, clearly.

There oughta be a poll!

But you know, like...

maybe that's just what they want us to think!

So I think... its a trade. No offense to anyone with insider knowledge who'd insist otherwise. What I think shouldn't matter to insiders since I'm not an insider!
