Should be signing a ton of these type of players in the coming years with all our picks traded.

Sign Greg Carey and Trevor van Riemsdyk too somehow. Need some of these hopefuls. Anything to boost the prospect system.

I'd also sign Liam O'Brien for some ruggedness.

Yeah, no Miller, what a joke. Thank god Dorsett is here to make sure we lose games.

From your mouth...

Carey is a here and now situation though. He could develop like Matt Moulson but he's already in his mid 20's, his success will depend on what situation he inherits inside a team's offense.

I'd rather Miller get minutes in the AHL than play Dorsett's sparse ice time up here personally.

The Rangers are at 50 contracts now. If they sign any more college UFAs, they need to start them in the 2014-15 season. Less desirable for the UFAs, as they don't get to burn a year of their ELC.

Haggerty was actually listed in an HF NCCA FA article from the 10th:

Quote:
Ryan Haggerty, RW
Junior, Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute (ECAC)

Ryan Haggerty started this season as the NCAA’s hottest goal scorer. He was named the ECAC Player of the Month for October after amassing 10 goals in RPI’s first six games. During that time, Haggerty also posted his first career hat trick on October 19th in the Engineers’ 7-1 win over Sacred Heart. While he has cooled off a bit since, Haggerty is still among the nation’s top goal scorers.

The Stamford, CT native currently leads RPI with 43 points (28 goals, 15 assists) in 35 games to date. His 43 points exceeds his point total from last season, while his 28 goals are more than double his sophomore total. Haggerty’s 28 goals also rank third in the nation, while his 10 power-play goals is tied for fifth.

Haggerty is a 6’0”, 200-pound power forward who simply knows what to do with the puck when it’s on his stick, and it’s an attribute that has made scouts really take notice of Haggerty this season. He can score from just about anywhere, but is especially dangerous around the net. He uses his size, strength and tenacity very effectively in driving to the net and protecting the puck. He competes and isn’t afraid to go into the dirty areas. Haggerty has greatly improved his play along the walls, playing tougher and smarter in that area. He’s a powerful skater with some speed that does a very good job of keeping his feet moving.

Also: Haggerty is 21, so this will be a 3-year ELC.

i hope it does not turn into another Kyle Jean

maybe another PP option.. nice shot...
not sure the first clip is the right Ryan Haggerty.

The kid that signed today just turned 21 years old a week ago.

that clip is from 2007? That would make him 13 in February 2007

Unless the date at the top of the clip is mm/yy/dd not mm/dd/yy

Either way I'm happy.

I work with his aunt and she was crying as i showed her this thread.

Hope he works out.

Lets hope he makes up for the 1st rounders Slats has traded away.

...still would have rather signed Sergey Tolchinsky.

after a quick search of hfb it seems like he was hyped on a lot of teams boards and the college prospect threads. articles also claim hes 200 pounds now which is good.

Awards:
Haggerty was at our 2012 Prospect Development Camp. We've had our eye on him for a while.

Even if he never gets into a game, it will be a valuable learning experience to spend the next months practicing with the team, getting to know NY, etc.

Better than just going home after school season ends and playing open hockey with benders till september

That's a very good signing. He's definitely in the top 10 college free agents this year.

Others worth looking at--Greg Carey-St. Lawerence U. Ryan Walters-Nebraska-Omaha Antti Oksanen-Boston U. defenseman, Trevor Van Riemsdyk-New Hamphire U. defenseman. Mark Zengerle-Wisconsin U. Shane Takar-Notre Dame U defenseman CJ Motte-Ferris St. U-goalie Ralfs Freibergs-Bowling Green St U. defenseman (played for Latvia in the Olympics).

My guess would be Falk, he's probably the least tradeable at this point. Have a feeling AV wants to run Diaz for a game, and Dorsett still has a year on his contract which makes him easily tradeable for a pick

Not needed, unless the Rangers want to sign another player.

my thinking exactly. Unless there is another NCAA undrafted guy they plan on signing to a deal (AHL or NHL at that), then no need to throw anyone to the waiver train.

however, if they do go that route, then I would have to assume that Falk goes
