THIS DATE IN FLYERS' HISTORY: March 15, 1984

Bobby Clarke, required to take a two-week five-game vacation by head coach Bob McCammon, returned to an exuberant home crowd and picked up his 1,200th career point in a 6-3 home win vs. Boston. Clarke's assist came on the first of four Flyers' goals in the opening period. Barry Pederson scored twice by the 2:41 mark which gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead; however, that evaporated into a 2-goal deficit by intermission. Clarke became the eleventh NHL player to reach 1,200 points. The Flyers went 2-3-0 in Clarke's absence but began an eight-game win streak with this victory.

Just get 2 pts this weekend, don't care how. Does Mase play them both ? He will need to be real sharp if so.

Ridiculously likely to happen. Expect goalscoring galore as in a typical Pens game. Unproportionally bummed that I'll in all likelihood miss game 1 maybe the 2:nd as well. Shoot me. I've circled the dates since far back

No way in hell that our boys lose more than one of the games though. Say what you will about the team; they have a tendency to win right when we don't expect them to. It's keeping this man's hopes alive.

Last time we played them BSchenn scored both goals in a 2-1 win playing as a LW with Vinny at center.

Maybe we should give that another try.

Agreed 2 points is a must. Anything over is bonus.

I would think we come hard in the first. Hopefully we score. Flyers being comeback kings are made for a team like the pens. Even if we get down we won't be out as the pens usually let off the gas and allow us back in

I just hope there's a lot of goals... if we lose it better be 9-8. I don't want to see a 1-0 or 2-1 game.

I've been trying this new thing... Positivity lol. Fact of the matter is, this weekend WILL make or break the flyers season. They drop both games they gain 0 points and not to mention they will have 0 confidence heading into a very difficult stretch. Lose this weekend and they will have dropped 4 straight at the absolute worst time. Devils, Rangers have easy schedules, and Jackets is a tough schedule but not nearly bad as the Flyers. This weekend is it. They win both and they will be feeling good heading down the stretch. Must win games. Let's go get em.

yup im feeling the same thing..

this weekend, basicly defines their season..

We need at least two points outta these two games, If somehow we could get 3 points that would be amazing. The Rangers lost tonight, they have now lost two straight so that gives up a bit of breathing room now. But knowing the Flyers they'll play great in Pittsburgh and then come home and put up a dud.

Obviously, they want to win both games, but winning at home and salvaging a point on Sunday is about all you can hope for this time of year. All teams are going to look at home games as must-win.
