all these guys are, imo, worth a long look.
as a longtime novoseltsev supporter i hope a team out west takes the chance on him, he can fly, he just needs a change of scenery. giroux & vandermeer are surprising, both have impressed their respectve teams in their short careers to date. simpson is a tough reliable dman, if toronto is still looking for a crease clearer, he would be a good pickup. i fully expect keefe to be picked up as well.
if i was ottawa i'd pickup giroux, and expose hnidy. we still lack depth on defense (on the farm, that is).

Not terribly surprised at the exposure of Boucher. Bierk and Boucher played at about the same level, Bierk is younger and doesn't seem to have the confidence issues that plague Boucher. Plus he's cheaper which is a consideration in the desert.
Here's hoping the Habs grab Todd Harvey, we could really use the sandpaper and hitting up front.
Bednar is an absolute steal at $500,000/season. Arguably one of the better Panthers in camp. Most likely exposed because he's on a one-way contract.
I don't care how the guy has looked in camp... once we do this stuff for real, every GM in the league knows he'll start taking half his shifts off... Unless he had a heart transplant over the summer, he's a risk, even at 500K (unless your team isn't deep or has too few prospects).
maybe someone understands the rules a bit clearer than i do...
can anyone explain why tomas kloucek and marek zidlicky are not on either the protected or exposed lists for nashville??
kloucek is entering his 4th year and has played 98 games and zidlicky is 26 years old...so based on my understanding of the rules neither guy should be exempt anymore and should have to be either protected or exposed...
