Florida did a favor last night in scoring four unanswered goals to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 5-3 regulation win over New Jersey. Now here's a chance to bury the Devils eight points back, with a game in hand still, and only 14 games left in NJ's season (15 for TB). Couple all of that with the two earlier losses in Jersey, and this is a game the Lightning definitely need to take advantage of, especially since Schneider went last night and it's Brodeur's corpse tonight.

No wasting this. I'm tired of the Devils always getting the best of this team.

So say we all. I have the fear, though. We always play like crap against Jersey.

I was looking at the next few days on the NHL slate, and a couple things caught my eye:

Sunday: Toronto vs. Washington
Tuesday: Toronto vs. Detroit

The Lightning play a game the day before both games. I imagine, in both cases, that the "preferred" choice to win those games is entirely dependent on the Lightning results; in other words, a Lightning W = wanting the Leafs to lose, while a Lightning L = wanting the Leafs opponent to lose. Home ice is nice; making the playoffs altogether is nicer.

In any case, no three point games.

Lets get the W tonight! We need to beat this Devils team.

Our last 10 games record compared to every other playoff team is not cutting it.
Would be nice to get on a little roll here..

No word on #tblightning lineup tonight, but last four off the ice were Aulie, Barberio, Panik, Kucherov (Panik/Kucherov often late off ice)

Yeah, not really sure how that's going to help anyone in this game.

I rather would've taken Schneider tonight than Brodeur. No matter how he plays before, he's a jesus in games against us. Would be nice to get a W here but I'm preparing for a loss so they can surprise me if they actually play a good game against the Devils for once and they score a couple on Brodeur.

Kucherov could center the 3rd line. Then again, Pyatt has been playing great lately so I don't want to take that away from him until he gives me a reason to.

Yeah, you got that right. I don't remember who played in the first game this year, but Brodeur played in the second and he was quite good that night (although the Lightning didn't exactly play a great game in their own right). Schneider has also been battling a nasty slump of late; 15 GA in three games I believe, and as much as some goals aren't the goalie's fault, well, that's a gruesome figure in any case.

But Brodeur's a backup at this point of his career and the Lightning need to treat him and his team like it. New Jersey's record, when broken down to just W's and L's, is 29-38. How is that team still in the playoff race? Terrible conference.

We lose all the time. Team is a joke especially against the turnpike.

They are here again to take their toll against us.

We lose 4-1.

Sad thing is detroit and toronto are finding ways to win

I think Kucherov might be on the brink of being returned to Syracuse. Sad. His confidence seems to have evaporated and he was never given an extended look on a true scoring line. But, on the plus side, he'll get 20 minutes per night and be ready to start next year with a bang.

I don't usually bet on my teams, but the spread tonight is TB -1.5.

Does anyone think we win by 2 or more????

We lose bad. 4 - 2.

We score 2 near the end, after pure domination in the face of our descent into hell.

Hedman
Thompson

Brodie pops in an empty netter.

EDIT: Drouin's game won't translate to big leagues.
