De La Rose and Bennett training with Habs

Dave Stubbs ‏@Dave_Stubbs 1 h
#Habs prospects Mac Bennett and Jacob de la Rose are on Brossard ice, working with coach Patrice Brisebois #HabsIO

Chantal Machabee ‏@ChantalMachabee 29 min
Jacob de la Rose et Mac Bennett sont à Montréal et ont patiné avant le #CH ce matin à Brossard.

What does that mean for them?

It means De La Rose is currently the Habs' top forward prospect and that Greg Pateryn will probably never play another game with the Habs.

For some reason I always picture De La Rose with a monocle and tall hat. He has the name for it.

DLR is a forward and Pateryn is a defenceman. What does DLR practicing with the Habs have to do with Pateryn??

Very happy to hear this. DLR is obviously really high on the radar, maybe they see him skipping directly to the NHL. Really, no forward in Hamilton has more potential of skill set of DLR has.

I'd LOVE to see him on the Habs this year based on what we saw of him in the World Juniors.

They didn't practice with the Habs, they practiced BEFORE.

People are assuming that we have effectively 'called them up' to have them in reserve for the playoffs. I imagine they're here more for extra training and advice for their summer. No way DLR gets to slot in to a game before ghetto even gets a callup. And Bennett over beaulieu? Nah. Not much to see here, folks.

Bennett is still recovering from his injury, IIRC, hence why he's not joining the Bulldogs.

EDIT:

Quote:

he meant that Bennett might be viewed higher as pateryn in the organization already. With the recent stuff going on with beaulieu, you would think its actually true. You are young and play good but you get sent down because Bouillon or Murray are better then you.

I think there is a strange NCAA rule that Bennett cant play pro while he's still attending classes/written final exams (end of April or even June I think), not to mention as someone already has he's still healing and injury from earlier in the year.

Although I'm not sure why DLR isn't signed to PTO for the remainder of the Bulldogs schedule

I guess this is just an experience thing to be around the team in the playoffs and learn how to act like pro's.

Honestly, I couldn't even fathom the thought of Mac being called up before Beaulieu or Pateryn so my bad.

As for DLR vs Ghetto, I'm not as certain as you on this one. Ghetto finshed his first full year of AHL but DLR has been playing in a mans league for the past 2. DLR was dominant in the Juniors and is probably the most NHL ready of all our forward prospects IMO. Not sying he will be on the team this year or even next, just that I personaly hold him as more NHL ready than any other of our prospects at this point in time.
