Murray trapped the Bruins in their zone tonight.

5 hits tonight and stood up to Chara and Lucic. Beast game during the PK clearing the crease.

Very solid and very needed against a team like the Bruins.

I would resign Murray if only for his presence in games like tonight's.

Tinordi-Subban
Markov-Emelin
Murray/Beaulieu-Gorges
Pateryn

would make me happy for next year

He didn't trap the Bruins in their zone, but he handled them well while they were trapping us in our zone which they did regardless of what defense pairing was one the ice.

For all his shortcomings, not many other players in the league can handle Chara or Lucic in front of the net like he does.

Still can't wait to see him replaced with Tinordi though.

You are mistaken. There was a shift or two when it was Murray in our offensive zone maintaining puck possession. I wish I could find the gif. It was funny as hell.

ALL of our D pairings were trapped in our zone tonight by the aggressive pressure of the Bruins forecheck. This was not a game to pick out one D and lay blame.

I cant wait for Tinordi to be a full time Habs player. Murray as a 7th is not that bad, especially with the injuries that will happen.

Must've missed that particular sequence then, but I didn't blame Murray for anything earlier. Every line and pairings were hemmed in their zone tonight through long periods.

There was a pretty hilarious sequence where we had a delayed penalty advantage and he was on... He had to keep the puck in the blueline and as usual jiggled it like it was a grenade. He did manage to keep it in though (barely) and that was indeed fun to watch.

Played one hell of a game tonight. He was a beast all game, physically dominated along the boards, and kept the Bruins big boys at bay all game... That's something no advanced stat can measure.

That's one I was referring to. I did have to chuckle watching that.

B's game was a good one for him. I still think the Leafs game was a bad one, despite the stats line. But again, he's ready to stand in with Chara during the scrums, doesn't have to fight him or anything, but just having him in there is a positive, as long as he's also being at least "adequate" during the actual play too.

So far I think he's roughly 50/50 in terms of being "adequate" during the play in games this season. Sometimes he reaches that "adequate" level, and other times he's more constantly boxed in and hurting us. I think it should be possible to get him playing at better than a 50/50 clip, though. Maybe familiarity with a partner, or a partner playing well and helping get the puck out, stuff like that, could tip the balance. Weaver had a good game and that helped.

His physical presence is why I have him over Bouillion. The stats may not agree with me but there's enough of a benefit on the size front for me to take him over another poor blueliner.

I like Murray. He had some bad games but overall, he's having a solid season.
He hits like truck and I enjoyed watching Booins eating the boards.

We know the guy is slow but none of the Bruin players tried face washing him like Thornton, Lucic, Chara are known for Only once did Chara crosscheck him then Murray turned around and gave him that crazy Viking look and Chara scurried away. Like some others have said this guy hits and crosschecks Bruins during the game and none of the bullies mess with him. They would rather pick on less formidable guys. Bruins are cowards, Murray proves it.

if we face the Bruins in the playoffs there is no excuse not to have Murray and Tinordi on the backend every night.

Murray/Gorges if he's healthy-Subban
Markov-Emelin
Tinordi/Murray-Weaver

Would make me very happy and the Bruins much less cocky.

There was one play last night where Lucic was in front of Budaj waiting for a shot from the point, Murray just tossed him and sent him flying to the floor clearing the front of the net. No retaliation nothing, just get up and leave. I love having him here for games like these. You know he's got your back no matter what.

When he was able to skate a little bit faster he was a legitimate top 4 defenseman. I wanted that Murray on the Habs for years.

Murray had fun with Soderberg and Eriksson last night, pounding them as often as he could into the boards.

And those two are on the vaunted "best 3rd line in the NHL".

Yeti was downsized last night by Mr. Murray. He was more like a Gerbil.

Who knows. This league is a joke when it comes to enforcing rules against dangerous plays like shoving someone into the boards head first.

If it was just me, he would be banned for the rest of the season. I would have banned Jones also and Chara as well.
