I'm guessing for the regular season it'll end up SJ > ANA > LA

In the playoffs, i think it's really close between SJ/LA with ANA bringing in the rear.

I think SJ has the better forward depth, but LA has the goaltending + D.

So i guess for playoffs i'd say:
LA > SJ > ANA

ANA will lose to LA or SJ in the first round if they don't finish first in the division and play a 7/8 team.

its interesting how the ducks can be ranked 2nd in both yet they drop to 3rd overall lol. although i guess that just means teams are marginally better than the others which is fair

Hard to call the Sharks a dark horse, but given their playoff woes, they are essentially that because I feel they will be who comes out of all this mess. Anaheim's defense is a little suspect, though not by much and LA just does not seem nearly as impressive as they were in their cup year. Neither should be counted out by any degree, but I think San Jose will come ahead.

That being said, I also think St. Louis will go the distance. So for the Sharks sake, pray to god you don't get the Kings because the Kings and the Blues later will be just downright murder.

The dude made a legit point while sounding as neutral as possible and your reply is some dumb comment about opinions? maybe forums aren't for you bro.

Sharks are 3-0 against the Blues and outscored them 16-7. SJ matches up GREAT against them. I am much more worried about LA and Chicago than I am against the Blues.

I tend to agree with this more or less.

Kings are built for the post season.

I see it as PO:
1.Kings
2. Sharks/Ducks

Another gem from the public: "Anaheim's defense has question marks"

Except for the fact that they come to play against the big boys. In the last 3 weeks, shut out St.Louis, allowed 2 to a red hot Colorado, and 1 to LA. They really only take nights off against inferior opponents (which I hate) but they have more than proven this season they can compete with the big boys on the defensive end (last 3 games against LA have surrendered 2 goals.)

came to post, although i'd switch the Ducks for the 2 spot come playoff time. the Sharks are perennial playoff choke artists for some reason

Because this is ranking the teams as of today, not based on their achievements 7+ years ago.

If we can get them here, we can keep them here--but FAs sure don't give any of our three teams more than a second glance before signing elsewhere. The Kings alone have been linked to Kovalchuk, Gaborik (lol), Chara, B. Richards, and basically any big FA every summer since DL took over...yet our biggest FA signing is arguably Willie Mitchell. May be a blessing in disguise. As other posters have pointed out, it's astute drafting/development that's formed the cores of all three teams.

Pick a week and you'll have the best team du jour, imo. Very small margins between these teams.

I don't know if my heart can take another 7-game series.
