Edmonton & Calgary

Ok I know I will get flamed but how about:

Edmonton Yakapov to Calgary for 2014 1st and 2014 2nd (Colorado)

Ok flame away

I think a dude like Dal Colle would be better for the Flames than Yakupov would be, but that value honestly doesn't seem terrible.

I highly doubt these two teams would trade with each other, especially with pieces like Yakupov and high 1sts involved.

Pass. Haven't been impressed with Yakupov. I'd rather draft one of the forwards available in the top 5.

The value isn't bad by hf standards. I can't see either team doing it though. Calgary will just stick to the German, dal cole, or bennett

Yakupov is suppose to have a higher ceiling than anyone from spots 3-6 right? If thats the case i'd do it...

As an Oil fan, it isn't terrible as those picks could be used to trade for defensive help.

I don't see Burke doing that though. Although he did like to take chances on Europeans.

It's not bad value wise. But I think cgy would rather keep dal colle/bennett/draisitl. and that 2nd rounder. Either of them trading big pieces with each other is rare.

As a Flames fan I would do it, but unfortunately I don't think Flames management would.

Both teams probably pass.

I wouldn't be happy if this trade went down. I'd rather pick Dal Colle, Draisaitl, or Bennett.

Woohoo not getting flamed for value for once lol

I really Don't think rivalry should really matter any more when teams trade with one another due to both teams are rebuilding. I believe this trade would help both clubs going forward.

The value isn't horrible, but I'm more content with drafting and developing our own prospects, whether they work out or not isn't a sure thing, but we need to get more homegrown talent.

And for the Oilers, I don't think they'd want this. What does another first and second round pick really achieve them? I know they want more picks, but giving a young talented prospect for picks seems a bit counterproductive. Trying to get another good level prospect with a playing style more necessary to the team, or for a player right in their prime that can help the Oilers now.

I personally wouldn't do it as a flames fan. Flames have never had much luck with Russians and though he has a lot of skill Yakupov has the leagues worst +/-
Would much rather draft one of Dal Colle/Bennett and keep the 2nd or trade it in a different deal

Calgary passes, I haven't been impressed with Yak enough to pay that kind of ticket for him, Calgary would be better off executing their own rebuild with the players they want.

Yeah, the Flames pass, of course,

The Oilers don't even consider that insulting offer.

Yak doesn't strike me as a Burke type of player
Edit: oh and this is terrible value for the Oilers. 1) it is just bad value, 2) they need players who can play now not prospects.

Easy no from the Oilers. Yakupov will likely be worth more than the pick that Calgary will obtain.

I'd rather take one of the top 6-7 players from this draft personally.

Don't like Yakupov, would rather take the chance on a top 6 player in the upcoming draft.

Can't see Edmonton doing that deal.

Nail's problem is he doesn't play like an NHL player mostly due to the lack of support in Edmonton. So instead Edmonton prays for guys who can support themselves in the NHL with 2 more later picks in the crap-shoot.

As a Calgary fan I'd be happy to see what Ward, Hartley, and the hard working vets on the Flames can do with Yak .done deal.

On the fence as an Oil fan. It would depend who is available at that spot, but the Oil's needs are very similar to the Flames (both likely targeting a C), and I'm sure the Flames would rather take one of Bennett/Reinhart/Draisaitl should they be available there.

Curious what Flames fans think of this idea though - Gagner (25% retained) for Glenncross? If Cammi doesn't re-sign the Flames will need to add some skill. Without a doubt UFA will be the first target, but is that a decent backup plan?

Wouldn't do it from a Calgary perspective. There's players in this draft that would fit in better with our system and the type of players we are looking to populate our lines with.

He'd get eaten alive here if he can't play all three zones.
