Dan Bylsma: Worst coach in the NHL?

Top 5 worst coach easy

- Plays Engelland and Pyatt on the PP. Engelland falls over and Flyers score another shorty
- Gets outsmarted by CRAIG BERUBE and willingly lets Couterier matchup against Crosby
- Plays 4 different left wingers with Sid today. Starts with Glass and continuously goes back to him throughout the game
- Plays an incredibly passive game including PK that allows Simmonds to literally set up wide open in front of Fleury / Zatkoff
- "We don't want to be a skilled team, we want to be a grinding team"

He's what the Pens turned him into... pretty much the modern day EJ.

Craig Berube has proven to be a solid coach since he took over for Laviolette. I don't know why getting outcoached by him would be particularly insulting.

If there's one thing you can say about the coach of a team that's top 5 in the league despite them having over 100 more man games lost to injury than the next team, it's that he's terrible.

the amount of talent there is on the team when fully healthy constantly covers up for how stupid he is

He pretty much ended any chance of Malkin being a top player ever. Under Therrian, Malkin was a decent 2 way player, who had responsibility for his actions

...Under Bysmal, Malkin is a trainwreck defensively, constantly floats and rarely gives effort. Malkin is no longer held accountable for his actions.

Bysmal is not strict at all on his players. Give the puck away, take a dumb penalty? It's ok.

Malkin's development has been stunted because there's no expectations placed on him. It's all placed on Crosby, Malkin just needs to make the other team sweat. It's aggravating.

brb tough loss, let's skip practise today... WTF!

Fluery has been carrying this team through injuries for years, yet it's bysmal that always gets the credit. But of course, Fluery sucks so there's no way he did anything to help a team that's gone years with Crosby,Malkin,Staal and their defense out

No discipline unless you are a vet!

Orpik, Scuderi, Adams can't clear the puck and let people walk around them? Better luck next time!

Megna, Despres, Bortuzzo, or Gibbons do that? Back on the bus to the AHL.

there's no accountability for anyone at all.

sick of mustache boy shootouts. sick of "in the room." sick of days off after being humiliated. sick of some stupid photo op at every turn. focus on hockey instead of being celebrities.

If that's a "grinding team" then the Blue Jackets are the Harlem Globetrotters of hockey. That was about as "grinding" as silk bedsheets. An actual grinding team would make their opponent pay for playing 20 minutes of prevent defense.

At one time some of the decisions he made kind of made you think maybe he was onto something because the team was winning. Now it just looks like he doesn't know any better, and the team succeeds in spite of him as opposed to because of him.

The problem is that's exactly what the Pens want.

This is the team that got Scotty Bowmen fired, hired a coach that couldn't even speak English and, people seem to forget, almost got Bob Johnson fired too.

They coddle their stars and its been that way forever. The country club is back folks... most of us long time fans knew it never really left.

YAY!!!...let's overreact to a team dropping a home and home with an actual all star team on IR!! (Neal/Kunitz/Dupuis/Letang/Martin/Vokoun)...we could throw in Bennett for good measure I guess....
400 man games lost to mainly high caliber pieces...the team will still top 110 points this year...but yeah...coaching is horrible.

We've had both. I'll gladly take Therrien back. Just as long as Michel Ouellet stays out of the equation.

Ever since Colorado fired Sacco he's had that distinction.

He looked back against the Flyers in the 2012 playoffs, against the Islanders and Bruins last year, and will against this year against the first round matchup.

He also looked horrible in the bronze medal game.

I don't think he actually understands how to coach.
