Boyd Kane signs with Wash.

It was in the Philly papers.

So who will be the new captain?

Sim should be on the Flyers 4th line.

Slaney was a UFA last time I checked.

Ben Stafford might get it.

Phantoms are decimated this season. Gone are Seidenberg, Pitkanen, Sharp, Carter and Richards (who were never really regulars anyway), Nittmaki, Little, Kane, Fedoruk, and Stafford.

I think I did here he went to a good college though so I guess he is exploring that.

Sucks for the Phantoms though.

I bet Chris McAllister will return and wear the "C"

Aren't Tony Voce and Mark Murphy UFA's as well?

Umberger, Ruzicka, Cote, Gratton, Eager, Jones, Meyer, Picard, and Beauchemin are the only definite returnees I can think of. Hopefully Umberger sticks in the AHL another year. Out of that group who deserves the "C"? Meyer?

I think Eric Meloche might have another year on his contract.

Ryan Ready is a UFA

Alexandre Picard, Charlie Cook, and Rosario Ruggeri are all signed to my knowledge.

Randy Jones, Freddy Meyer, David Printz, and Wade Skolney are all RFA's.

So what is the deal with Joey Hope?

Stafford went to Yale from 1997 to 2001. He is going to Jefferson Medical School in Philly.

Check the Phantoms homepage for more.

Good for Boyd. He deserves a chance to play for a team where he can get some NHL time and play 40+ games.

Back to reality. The AHL was a treat last year and we were spoiled with the amount of talented rookies playing. This year everything will be going back to the norm, the veteran cup.

My guess is that Slaney picks up the C. He probably won't be called upon by the Flyers and has his place cemented in minor-league history.
