Holy cow did the wheels ever fall off the Fronts What the heck happen ??? This team had great high end players !! The easy way out would be to put the blame on the refs. but that CLEARLY was not the problem ..

Couldn't hold early leads(3-0,3-1) and it seemed like we could only score on D'Agostini in the first period. He was really good that series.

A few players I would like the Fronts to draft with the first pick; Cole Candella-LD 6' 170, Logan Stanley-LD 6'6" 205, Taylor Raddysh-RW 6'1" 185, Matt Hotchkiss-LC 6'1" 195. Second round; Matthew Thom-RD 6'2" 190, Matthew Timms-LD 5'9" 165, Joseph Mizzi-RC 5'8" 190. Maybe an American with the second pick but only if they know 100% he'll report

Why can't we put some of the blame on the refs? Twice in this series the league suspended players after games,Why did these players not get the appropriate penaltys during the games? There was so much bush league ,dirty BS after whistles the refs were afraid to call it ,the PPs in game 2 were 11-3 for the Fronts and they could have been 25-3. The refs heard this and tried to even things up and it was total crap after whistles and the League should be ashamed of its self for not looking after players safety.

That is what we call North American playoff hockey. It's rough. Get used it or maybe get Gill to bring his team over to Finland to play.

Lol...Maybe in the 70's that was acceptable. The refs got gun shy and were afraid to make the PPs lop sided for the Fronts after game 2 for fear of being biased. So game 3 the Petes get more PP time and there dirty cheap antics after whistles continued and grew the rest of the series. The refs were intimidated, Game 6 the Fronts should have had a 7 minute PP after Maguire punched a defenceless Ikonen after a whistle they blew it with a double minor and 2 for Ikonen. Next day Maguire gets 5 game suspension...That is not rough hockey like you say it's bush league hockey.

Whatever it was, the Fronts were not able to adjust to the style of play and when you blow a 3 games to none lead you might want to look into the mirror. Six years with Gilmour and they've won the same amount of playoff rounds as in the previous 10.

Springer should pull the plug right after the draft Saturday and get a new GM and Head Coach.

So Ikonen can skate into an altercation that's already happening on the ice and not expect anyone to do anything about it? What Maguire did was too far, yes. But do you even watch the NHL playoffs? Rough hockey. You get hit everytime you touch the puck and there is s*** going on after every single whistle. It's what playoff hockey is. This league is a development league for the NHL.. Might as well get used to it now.

I think the key word there is " playoff hockey"....anyway on a serious note I do think some blame should be put on the refs but to the point is I don't think they know what to call anymore. You get one set of refs that wanna let the players decide the outcome since it's a playoff game then the league turns around and suspends players on 2 minute penalties, maybe I'm wrong but it's my opinion

Gilmour has to use this excuse as he deflecks blame. It was his job to get the players and Gills job to guide said players. It was a good exciting year but the bandwagon jumpers can only see wins as a result, I said in another forum what I would consider success for this team well before the playoffs and I said thay already have had it, I don't feel cheated out of my hard earned $$$ I have spent on this team, no mattter what happened in the playoffs. But the same bandagoners don't want to hear theat managment has to take some blame in this everyone is looking for a reason why, the easiest to to pick officiating. going up 3-0 in games and up 3-0 in goals in a clinch game and blowing it all cannot be blamed on not officiating issues

What Maguire did was an embarrassment to hockey, "playoff hockey" isn't roughest team wins. See the NHL Pittsburgh, Chicago and Detroit seem to go on deep runs and it's because the team has SKILL. The refs in this series were terrible but they were equally bad for each team. Peterborough started to come back when Garlent Betzold and MacDonald stopped yapping after the whistle. I've said it before and I'll say it again Ritchie is one of the best power forwards in this league but consistently yells at the ref and tries too be the tough guy. IMO not a guy I want in the playoffs. You want solid two-way players that won't cost your team. Hey even Clarke's a great player but when he constantly chirps it starts to get old. I only got to see the replayed video of each game but still got to see some badly refereed games. Maybe Bennett comes back next year and Kingston builds up a run next yea. He was a hell of a pick up. Love watching him play, probably one of the best two-way players in the O

Will the Fronts draft a goalie with a little Springer in his step?

O'Grady and Dorval will be in the lineup next year. Probably Thom too, he's apparently a good shutdown guy. Hopefully Foegele gets drafted in the NHL and they want him to play in the OHL.

The Fronts nearly had the tri-fecta:

They got the owners son;

They got the GM's son;

They didn't get the Head Coach's son...Erie got him.

Stories of Doug Gilmour going to coach in the KHL are premature. There is an offer on the table, but no decision has been made.

If that happens it will be a step back as a franchise,the guys in place now have brought respectability back to the franchise and stability is needed at this time.

I guess that should have been the writing on the wall. Gill's contract wasn't renewed.

Too bad about Gill's contract not being renewed. I thought that despite the collapse in series one, the team was well coached and on it's way to bigger and better things. Gilmore being renewed is no surprise, he has done a good job of rebuilding the talent level and he is such a great ambassador for the Fronts and community. Any ideas on who could be the next coach for the Fronts?

Gill is a classy individual and he knew that the team had to make a move, and Gill offered to go. He does own the Jr B team- Brockville, and may go back to running that organization full time.

Great guy.

They should bring back the last Fronts coach to have won a playoff round....if he's still alive.
