Id rather avoid Price in the first round and play Toronto. Don't think Bernier or Reimer can take over a series like Price can. We match up pretty well with either but with Bishops play lately we don't have the edge in net vs Montreal.

Obviously, I'm hoping for a Montreal win.

yeah, but unfortunately the Habs have erased enough deficits since the break ended that they're probably safely going to beat out the Leafs, I'd estimate. Seriously, look how many deficits they've erased; it's almost, if not more, than the number of leads the Lightning have blown in the same period of time.

I would prefer Montreal in a first round series because that's a team with better assets and I feel better upside than Toronto that is mangled by a dumbass of a head coach who insists on turning them into a bunch of grinders. And as we saw with their series against Ottawa last year, if they lose their way, it just completely unravels for them. That was humiliating.

well, for those who want MTL, myself included, rapid fire goals have the Habs up 2-0 early at the ACC.

Habs won the game 4-3 in regulation, so Toronto remains stuck on 80 points, Lightning regain their game in hand (and gain another when Toronto goes to NJ tomorrow night).

The problem with MTL winning is they're inching closer to regaining home ice advantage over us. That could be big for us. I'd rather keep a gap between us and #3 in the Atlantic.

that matters to an extent, but the Lightning have played two pretty solid games this year at the Bell Centre and lost their only home game (to this point) against the Habs; I mean, home ice is always nice and I'd prefer it, but I think we as fans have a prolific tendency to overrate it.

I see the Toronto loss actually increased our chances of making the playoffs even with the Pitts loss. And I'd far prefer to see the Wings make the playoffs over the Leafs, all things equal.

We've had Detroits # this season. I'd also rather see them in the playoffs than the Leafs.

being a lifetime fan of detroit and now of tampa I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH A HEALTHY DETROIT.

datsyuk helm weiss maybe all ready in first round.

zetterberg ericsson ready for round two is not a bargain.

Washington's doing their late season thing once again it seems. The California trip was supposed to be the death of them; instead, they picked up five out of six points out there instead.

Robert Detroit sucks! I would love to get them in any round of the playoffs but I doubt they even make it they're so overrated. Why would you mention Weiss? If he play's it actually helps our chances he's been so bad this year.

Oh the Toronto media is fun to listen to lately. They're losing their minds.

the sentimental hockey fan in me is going to feel sad for Columbus as they will probably miss the playoffs because of some of the uprisings of late, but that's the way the hockey world works; sucks for them if they miss out.

I'm just glad that it seems like the Bolts are increasingly safe in this field. With 8/11 left at home and some favorable matchups, it's hard to fathom a seven point advantage being blown, but stranger things have happened and no chickens have been counted yet over here.

I want nothing to do with Detroit in the playoffs. You can throw their regular season out the window. They have a tradition of winning and they tend to find a way to do it when it counts (like last year). I sort of want them to sneak into 8th though, because they're a team I can picture knocking off Boston, and even though I fear Detroit come playoff time, I still fear Boston more.

I'd be fine with Detroit - weak D, mediocre goaltending.

Also, lol at mentioning Weiss as something to be afraid of.

Yeah Detroit's team look like a bunch of playoff warriors which is something we probably don't wanna deal with. I'd be fine facing the Pens/Leafs/Habs in the playoffs, no Boston...

We're about as scary to Detroit as they are to us.

We can match up fairly well with them.

Also Detroit looks to be getting a few of their bigger names back from injury soon. I want nothing to do with Detroit in the playoffs. A bunch of big time vets against our mistake prone rookies. Yikes.

I think a lot of us are a lot more scared about the winged wheel than the names on the back of those uniforms. While I agree about how that veteran experience becomes a ***** and a half to deal with this time of year (look at how they pulled themselves out of the dungeon last year, yeah), there's still a reason why Detroit has been under .500 this entire season basically, and why the Lightning are 4-0 against them; that includes victories against Datsyuk + Zetterberg lineups.

Yup.

There won't be a sweep but it will be a good, long series.
