If Prust is Healthy, do you think White could handle the 3rd line and sit Eller for a game or so ? I like White he brings a lot of energy and wins a lot of puck battles.

As if either of the other 2 pairings were any better in their zone yesterday. In fact, Weaver and Tinordi were probably the most consistent in the defensive zone. Too bad they chose that time to really screw up.

After the game Eller had last night, what are you on?

Edit: Ending aside he had too good of a defensive game.

I would definitely like to know who's responsible for our defensive structure within the coaching staff. Whoever that is needs to give his head a shake or get fired.

i think that's where we will see changes in the off-season, kind of like the goalie coach switch. there's more talent on this back-end, than results are showing. not saying they're best in the league, but they're better than what we've seen, and our d are regressing.

subban

D was too loose all night long...I mean yeah it looks like it all rests on Tinordi's shoulders because of one gaffe but when you give up 40 shots and as many scoring chances as we did, you don't deserve to win...regardless of how the last puck got in the net.

Still though, Tinordi has to know his limits. A backhanded saucer pass under pressure with 3 minutes left in the game? Cmon guy.

These posts always make me How does a team who got dominated all game and had no business winning hang a loss on 2 players? Eller was pretty good and Tinordi wasn't bad. Just that big error at the end. I have no problem with young players going through growing pains at all.

I thought he played pretty good up until that last play.

Too many on these boards jump on every little mistake a player makes. We need to understand that Tinordi is still learning and I still prefer him learning on the job rather than having Murray in the line up.
I agree with this. Seems like everyone expects perfection all the time but that's just not realistic. It sucks when young players make mistakes but he needs to learn and get experience somehow.

People blaming Tinordi for the lost are clueless. We had no bussiness of winning this game. Habs were bad and undisciplined ans Price was amazing.

Not even mad.

Hey I agree with you. Note the date. Absolutely true. Tinordi didn't cost us THE GAME. He was at the bad end of that goal. But THE game was lost everywhere else And when you give 40 goals with tons of great scoring chances, well you didn't have that time to attack 'cause you were always defending. Good play by Johansen to intercept the pass. Weaver could have prevented it, was fooled by Johansen stopping, Price didn't cover his angles right and all of that.....But then again, the game was lost way before that. You can say those comments when you totally dominate a game that you had no business in losing and then a player makes a total blunder.....but yesterday's wasn't that kind of game.

You have to hope that this supposed mistake by Tinordi will NOT mean not seeing him as much. I'd take him over Bouillon or Weaver or even both together.....

So many penalties were kind of the marginal difference. Habs need to be more disciplined they cannot spend 1/4 of the game in the box.

I think that Eller played a good game, good effort. But it's clear now that he doesn't have the best vision, neither the best hockey sense.

The high amount of penalties killed us. We spent almost a period short-handed.

To think though out of all the penalties the habs had taken, Columbus ended up scoring a shorthanded goal.

it really was...

I still want tinordi to play, I think he would do better than bouillon next to subban, but that play made me go:

honestly, I thought...we didn't deserve to be in this game, it was 2-2 and that's how we blow it, after killing 6 minutes of pp's straight.

Also big props to Johansen. He was great last night and not just on that goal. Really impressive performance. And on that winning goal, he picks Eller's pocket then when we get it back he picks Tinordi's pocket and then he beats Price.

Sometimes you just gotta give credit where it's due.

Imagine if Johansen took those 2 penalties with Therrien as his coach?

The 21 year old would've been stapled to the bench.

I don't have any problem with the rookie mistake Tinordi made. It must be Eller's 100th turnover this month though and it's getting to me. When he tries to deke everyone it usually ends up in our own net.

The fact that Montreal was playing poorly is irrelevant. When the game is on the line you'd expect something better out of the players.

Benny Brunet? Is that you? You're obsessed with Eller, Benny. This obsession isn't good for you. You were obsessed with AK46 and it cost you your job. Benny, you can't continue talking against Eller every game Benny.
