I blame Mitchell for this one.

One could hope bourque is fired up by being scratched, I doubt it but one could hope. They should play Gallagher with Galchenyuk...

I don't care much about Bourque but he actually plays well against the Leafs so I don't mind him coming back into the lineup

I don't hate it

If Bork and Gio could remember how to shoot a puck that 3rd line could actually contribute. Love having Briere finally playing with some studs..... And that top line could be special if DD can feed his hungry wingers

70 games into the season and still can't secure the lines.

MT is overreacting here. The lines have looked good for the past few games. I thought that they finally have a good balance for once. The Canadiens didn't lose because of bad line combos, they lost because they have no structure in the defensive end. No amount of line combos will change that.

Woww. Major change !
What I like:
- Galchenyuk at C
- Gionta on 3rd line
- Bourque is back (I may be the very few ones who like it)
- Parros still out

What I don't like:
- Off-wings: Vanek et Brière
- Eller on the 4th line. I understand that he hasn't been so good lately, but he's much better than a 4th liner.

5-5-0 in last 10...

Not too impressive at all.

Could have been 6-4-0 with a smarter effort last night.

Excited to see Galchenyuk at center...as long as the coaching staff doesn't expect him to step in without any hiccups. He's going to struggle on faceoffs, but this is long overdue.

I also don't mind putting Bourque back in the lineup...Habs could be a much better team if he can find a way to contribute, no one is expecting consistent goal output but just do something out there.

Finally, if MT could just take Bouillon out of the lineup and play Tinordi with Subban, it would be a solid lineup. Despite Tinordi's mistake, I found he was starting to settle in nicely the last few games, the worst thing to do right now is bench him and send his confidence down even deeper. Show him that you support him and send him back out there, that will do a world of good for his confidence.

If Tinordi-Subban could gain some traction as a pairing, then you mix in Markov-Emelin...you could pair Gorges with Weaver when he returns from his hand injury.

That is pretty much how the entire season has gone, so I'm not really surprised or disappointed. The Habs have been a .500 team for most of the year.

I love how MT thinks that changing up the line combos will somehow fix the structural issues in the system employed.

It's not confirmed that he's sitting...he's being rotated with Bouillon next to Subban

Awful lines. Awful d-men pairing....Tinordi benching is just an awful message to send to the kid.

You want to bring Bourque back? Fine. Put him with DD and Pac. You want to play Galchenyuk on C? Fine. Put Vanek with him and Gionta to secure the defensive aspect of the line. Pleks-Brière-Gallagher? Fine.

D-men? Awful to scratch Tinordi. Seriously, what a stupid move. Bouillon-Murray-Weaver....that has to be one of the worst bottom 3 of the league.

He is, but he hasn't shown it lately. He's lucky he is even playing at all. White was very good on the PK.

Completely disagree with all of this. This is the best option for forward lines possible, its perfectly balanced. Vanek and Pac are beginning to click. Splitting them up for Bork is an incredibly bad idea IMO. Not to mention that Gionta with Vanek was painful to watch. Gio kills any play Vanek creates and fails to do anything himself. Gionta is finally exactly where he belongs in the line up and the whole team benefits from this.

Hoping for a win but its always a 50/50 when these two teams play no matter how they look on paper.

I love how in the middle of a playoff race MT decides to play Galchenyuk at centre. FFS, I can't believe this team is juggling lines. The lines aren't the problem, they've played well the last few games, finally have a balanced attack.

MT needs to fix defensive coverage and the transition game. It flat out sucks. Teams with less puck moving ability on the back end have better transition games.

If you put Galchenyuk at C, you absolutely NEED to put him in a position to succeed. You really think that Bourque is Gionta is a great combination? By putting Vanek in that line, you provide the offense to Galchenyuk that will make him succeed offensively. By keeping Gionta on that line, you provide that safe defensive play that this line wouldn't be a liability. As far as Vanek and Gionta, yes...obviously, we've seen that combination for 1 game in a row and we can TOTALLY come to the conclusion that it's done and over with.

By putting Bourque on the DD and Pac line, you convince him that he's the puck retriever. You force him to become the "Gallgher" on that line and he'll have to work his butt off to stay on that line. And it will make that 1st line less predictable 'cause DD will never shoot ever again. You want to keep that chemistry between Pac and Vanek? No problem. There's PP's for that.

If you put Galchenyuk at centre, put him in a position to succeed: Offensive starts and offensive wingers.

Pacioretty Desharnais Bourque
Vanek Galchenyuk Gallagher
Eller Plekanec Gionta<----Pure shutdown line, if they score, they score, but it shouldn't be their focus
Moen Briere Weise

I know it sucks that the team will only have one centre that can play defense.
