Of the three #1's you picked I only agree with one of them but he has faltered due to bad decisions by management on how to develope him.

Its been 8 years since you started "rebuilding" don't try to get high and mighty that you know what a good team needs.

Ironhook will really cost us in 2-3 years. One year of hobbling in to continue a streak isn't exactly smart when outside of nhl ready centers we had 2 that have top 6 upside. Next closest center we have is 2 years away (greek kid in ohl) at the earliest but as far as prototypical red wing 2 way playmaking centers we have none in our pipeline.

You build your team down the middle in order of priority #1 centers, #2 defense, #3 goalie, #4 wingers.
All that and still doesn't change the fact hes right to call him a 3-4 center is totaly wrong.. He's a good second line center who can **** down the other teams top lines and has another gear in the playoffs.. Its prob the push that will get det into the playoffs and then if some of their key players get back who knows.

On a healthy cup contending team he would be a third line center. He is not bad I am not saying that. But he would slot into the #3 position.

My vote is on Hemsky.

I think he has 2 g 8 a after switching scene, that's pretty good.
He actually has 2-6-8 in 10 games

He has been good for sure, but 6 of those points came in 2 games ... so he's had 2 points in the other 8 games combined

Vanek has brought exactly what the Habs were needing.. Size up front and some added scoring punch. If and I mean If the Habs can re-sign him, this is one of the biggest steals in a long time... Vanek use to be a Habs killer with his net presence and garbage goals, in 1 game vs the Avs, he scored 3 goals ala Vanek, One of a great tip, one with a quick release in front of the net and one ugly goal of a scramble. Like a few of you have already posted, so many great acquisitions during this year's TD.

all these responses are biased!

Moulson in MIN
Hemsky in OTT
Miller in STL

and I'm sorry but Callahan trade was amazing for Tampa, especially if they resign him. Great second line player
