I don't know why he doeesn't wear #84 like he did every other team he played for before the Flyers (including the German national team)

Hmm, I thought 36 was very fitting for Seidenberg.

BTW, has an NHL player ever even worn #84?

he wants to honor his mentor big Shell(spelling a little off) and show he will be a defensive stalwart this year.

For what its worth, he actually wore 86. I don't think I've ever seen that number, either.

For the German national team Seidenberg always wore 84, and I think a few of his profiles said the same thing for other teams.

"big shell" is Kjell Samuelsson

For Adler Mannheim, I'm 100% sure he was wearing 86. Christopher Straube was wearing 84 during his tenure there. As for the German national team, I don't know.
