Begin available for waiver draft

Is anyone else surprised by Begin or anyone else that was not protected?

honestly I havent seen him play enough to say he is that bad, but he really hasnt impressed me that much to say to protect him.Good choices with the players they did protect, they are worth more then Begin

No. This could make room for Connolly or Roy.

Yeah, I don't want him here anyways, I'd really like to see Roy make the team. Also, what's happened to Jeremy Adduono. I really liked what I saw from him during preseason games in years past.

I doubt Begin will be picked up, and Roy will be in Rochester to start the year.

Game for game, Patrick might be our most consistent d-man.

Patrick is a decent defenseman IF he doesn't play more than 15 minutes a night and IF he plays 40 games a season. If not, he gets quite inconsistent. He's 40 years old, and this is probably his last season. The Sabres have a glut of defensemen. I would much rather have seen Milley or even Begin protected.

Plus, Patrick basically said I want to stay in Buffalo or retire, didn't he?

However, if Patrick is the guy that is put on the waiver list to pick someone else up, I can understand that.

Agreed. That's what I meant by "game for game." I just think he's a valuable asset for those 40 or so games, a dependable veteran presence.

Nice to see you guys didn't rip me for that one....but I am a Flames season ticket holder and I am sick of watching Begin be in the NHL when he doesn't deserve to be....

I am sure you guys will get sick of him in due time...He doesn't deserve to be in the NHL and due time it'll catch up to him...Your team should look inice though..Your D imprved your Forwards better with Drury, Kotalik a year older, Satan still in the fold....What you really need is Connolly to finally break out if he can do what Legwand did last year then you could be laughing....But otherwise your still probably a player or two away IMO...

Good Luck...

I'm not surprised at the exposed list.I don't think Begin would be taken also.

Patrick will help the young guys, but I see him as our 8th D-man. Fitzy and Campbell can handle the 6 spot.

Only Sabre I don't like to see on that list is Jason Botterill. He is a pretty decent player and he does enjoy the battles in the corners and he goes to the front of the cage. Forget Boulton, we have Peters.

Botterill is destined to play on the top line in Rochester and that's why he was exposed.

I saw Steve Begin last night at the sabres game. He got into 1 fight at the end sticking up for a teammate. Hes got good heart. I rather see him a Sabre then Boulton

Begin >>>>> Boulton
