Hall is still the better FO guy, but it's nice that Raffl can play both LW and Center.

Carter says he expects to get boo'd.

I wonder if he really will or not. It's not like he left on terms or anything, he didn't ask to be traded.

Not sure why he thinks that, I wasn't his biggest fan but if I was at the game I would give them both a nice hand.

What we've learned about sports and fanbases. People can be murdered or assaulted outside of your stadium and it'll be forgotten in a week. You can cheer for players getting injured and it'll be forgotten a week later. But god forbid you boo Santa, and that'll be your calling card as a fanbase for the next half a century.

Don't take it so seriously, it's a funny moment in Philadelphia sports history.

The chance you know that story in context is probably about 0%.

No one outside of Philadelphia knows the context, and no one cares.

It's not that big of a deal. It's just something that is fun to rib you guys with a little.

Mike Richards on the 4th line? That can't be true. That's not a real thing...

It is a big deal because people continually bring it up. Meanwhile people are KILLED outside of Dodgers Stadium and AT&T Park and it's forgotten about after two weeks, yet the old Philly fans booed Santa never dies.

FFS, Emery?

Play Mason until they are comfortably in the playoffs. It isn't rocket science

At least we don't murder people.

They have to give him some rest every once and a while. If not, he'll be out of gas by the time they get there. If they beat the Hawks with Emery in net, they can beat the Kings as well. They just have to continue to play the way they've played for the last couple of weeks.

The LA fans are more concerned with their next drink order than the game they may be attending.

remember when they abandoned their team en masse when Magic retired in 1991, then reconfirmed their fickleness by sending local TV ratings plummeting 30 percent after Shaq departed in 2004.

I'm going to go with a yes. Richards was boo'd the last time & he had much more fan fare than Carter.

I don't know if I could handle all of that. My productivity at work today has already gone way down with all this information-y goodness.

He got demoted due to ****** defensive play and we believe a particularly bad pass that led to a game-tying goal the other night. But he came out vs. Florida on a mission and looked honestly like Richards of old so we'll see if it keeps up tonight. It's odd, because outside of goal-scoring, the production has been there, but the defensive play/headiness has not. Call it concussions, conditioning, injuries, whatever, something is off mentally there, and for a guy that's usually hailed as a cerebral player, he had a habit of being indecisive and tentative (so imo, it's the concussions). Anyway, not trying to beat a dead horse or raise another discussion--just wanted to point out that for one night at least, giving him fewer but better minutes appears to have been a step in the right direction for those of you that still love him

Always a fun game with the Flyers. Glad to see such a drastic turnaround after that rough start. I imagine it will be a spirited game, so good luck and cheers to a healthy outcome, and hopefully we'll have to see you guys again in a couple of months.

Among NHL teams the Kings are 1 goal shy of being dead last in GF (the Buffalo Sabres are not an NHL team), so if there's ever a game to play Emery it's this one. Definitely agree with the decision.

Richards already had his return so he'll be booed 100%.

Carter? I'm not sure. Will they even have a video tribute for him? If they don't he'll be booed the entire game too.

I don't mind Emery starting here. It's not a divisional game and the Kings aren't great offensively. The real struggle during this game will be be scoring. If we can't get some goals it won't matter if it's Emery or Mason back there. That being said, if Emery lets in soft goals like he did against Chicago I'm going to complain about him and say it was always a bad decision.

One incident is a tragedy and is remembered by everyone I assure you. When it comes up it is discussed in a serious way as it deserves to be.

The other is a light hearted thing that doesn't really matter. It's kind of funny. People like to remember and joke about funny things. Tragedies are remembered, but not joked about.

Anyway, good luck with the rest of your season after tonight's game.

I wouldn't boo Carter even though I never much cared for him, and was very happy when he was traded for some European from a crappy Western team I didn't know much about and the 8th pick in a draft I knew nothing about.
