Leafs board is devastated, blaming Reimer and I agree he was not great but man they turned the puck over a ton, patches Vanek and dd could have had 4 goals alone but just couldn't click. Their d is worse than ours.

Someone needs to upload a GIF of Habs management's reaction to Plek's goal. Priceless.

The disconnect is that Murray is being paired with Weaver.

It is insanity playing two stay at home DMen on the same pairing.

Put Murray with someone like Beaulieu, or even Tinordi (who is good at moving the puck) and he becomes a huge asset. Saddling him with Weaver or Bouillon and he becomes less effective.

Murray is not fast on his skates. He played a solid game tonight.
Very true. I don't see how Murray is getting bashed after tonight. Get a mobile, even slightly offensive D-man paired with him and Murray is fine.

I'm really starting to dislike Weaver though, any time the puck gets down near the net his favorite maneuver is to drop to the ice. It's fine if you're trying to block the cross ice feed on the PK but really not cool the rest of the time he does it.

As much as I'm with you (I mean, he did get called for the same thing just last game), it should be known that those slashes go uncalled literally dozens of times over a single night of action around the league. Just too visible in the middle of open ice to get away with that one, though. Given the ease with which these lighter sticks get whipped around these days, I am perhaps a bit less surprised to see the refs giving progressively less "benefit of the doubt" or leeway on them, so I'd say Pleks has to adapt a bit.

Seriously, it wasn't long ago that if you saw as many high sticking calls (especially high sticks that draw blood or at least make a ref check), not nearly as many were "unintentional".

The Habs are so good! They're winning the cup this year for sure.

Plekanec has long been guilty of playing the odds on things like that. Him and Briere for instance, are constantly guilty of minor slashes knowing they will get away with it the majority of the time, so it's no surprise some refs have known what players to target.

Bournival has a relentless work ethic, excellent hockey sense and blazing speed. He will be an asset on the bottom two lines!

Seeing the obvious impact of reputation when we see how Gallagher gets treated, it's a definite possibility.

I think Leaf fans are going overboard on the Reimer hate... There seems to be lots of accumulated baggage, because today wasn't as terrible as they make it seem...
Goal 1: One timer in the slot, under the stick of the D. (off a neutral zone giveaway)
Goal 2: Bourque off on the side alone, not great but Bourque shouldn't be there in the first place.
Goal 3: Screen + Deflection in front (very difficult to stop)
Goal 4: His fault. Should have squeezed the post, but those goals happen, especially when you're inching towards 40 shots against.

Damn I just noticed that Ottawa is 16 points behind the Habs...I like it! I have come to despise that team! I wonder if Walrus gets canned soon?

Huge double-U for les boys tonight.

Damn that penalty on Pleck had to be one of the worse calls of the season. Just brutal. Glad he's the one that ends up scoring the game winner.

Huge win.

Noted.

I figured you couldn't use a team's name in any negative way. Still idiotic to call them the laughs, but what can you do...

He's still a guy who doesn't hit. He doesn't make life miserable on the opposition. He needs to learn that he has to finish his checks. Him and Weise will be great on the forecheck with their speed and if they finish their checks.

I hate the leafs but I feel for Reimer. I hope he finds a team that will give him a shot next season.

#habs Bournival is being recalled tonight. #Habson690

^This is a key addition. Bournival dominated the game with the Bulldogs yesterday.
If Eller is injured then
Pacioretty DDH Vanek
Moen Plekanec Gionta < the shutdown line
Bourque Galchenyuk Gallagher
Briere Bournival Weise
