Eric Boulton Signs Extension

Per his agent, and retweeted by Staple:

Michael Wulkan ‏@MLWULKAN 1h
Congrats to #Eric Boulton on signing a 1 year extension with the @NYIslanders. On way of reaching goal of playing till 50

Don't mind. Boulton has played well when he ever gets the call, for what he is. So it's whatever.

I like this, Boulton plays his role on the team and has not been a liability like most goons on the ice. Good for him.

I don't like the role that Boulton serves and don't think its necessary.

Having said that he doesn't seem to complain about playing a quarter of the games, therefore I'm ok with this.

I like this move. For an enforcer, Boulton has some skill. I would like to see him given more ice time.

I'm not mad. I love Boulton. I remember when we first got him I hated it and now he's really grown on me. Great team guy and does his role.

I'm good with this. He was always a favorite for what he does since his Thrasher days.

He performs a necessary evil in the game and does a good job of it(both fighting and playing). Every team has/needs a enforcer, I like Boulton as ours.

I dont understand this - we have Halmo now

Kidding - I like Boulton and his role. He can handle just about anyone in the NHL. A very smart fighter.

Fine with this, he does a job and scores the odd goal. Better hands on the stick than the normal goon.

low character player and I am sure he would have no interest in the rest of the league, therefore you know Snow is all over him, surprised he only signed him to a 1 year extension

This is ok, like previous posters mentiones he has not been a liability and actually is an ok hockey player (in terms of what he's expected to do).

They should call it the poop deck. "Cap floor" is almost misleading.

I like Boulton for the role he fills though. There are much better teams with worse or 0 skilled guys in those spots.

Never heard that, it is untrue. Boulton is a character guy, no cheap shots.
Stands up for his teammates, the toughest job in hockey, and can skate his shift.

600,000 for 20 games is like 2.4 mill to play 80.
Puts him right up near Okposo in per game played salary.
After those shots to the chin he gave Colton Orr he can stay as long as he likes

Exactly & have never heard any complaints of him being dirty, in fact we have seen many occasions where Bolts leveled a guy with one punch and stopped swinging. Good sign for this team for one year.

You like to make things up don't you? I've never heard anything close to that, and I don't even like the guy.

Both Tampa Bay coach John Tortorella and Toronto coach Pat Quinn have made angry comments about Boulton's style of play. Tortorella said "no one wants to see him on the ice."
